Vehicle Detail
1968 CHEVROLET C-10 250 CID INLINE 6 CYLINDER ENGINE3-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION W/COLUMN SHIFT I bought this truck in South Park Colorado (it still has the Park County sticker on the windshield), about 15 years ago and it's been mainly used as a backup vehicle. Whenever my car has had trouble, I've always been able to use this truck to get me through the tough times. It runs and drives, but it will need some work. The manual steering is a bit loose. May need tie rod ends, etc. It has manual drum brakes all around. It has some rust in some of the usual places, especially the passenger side rocker and cab corner, and it has some dents too, as shown in the photos. All the glass appears to be original and is in very good condition, no cracks, the windows roll up and down OK, the gauges and lights are good, and the wipers work. The heater works, but it always blows hot, you can control the fan speed, but not the temp. The original dashboard top pad is cracked from age and sun exposure. It does not have a radio, and as near as I can tell, it has never had one installed. It's probably going to need a tune-up, or maybe some carb work because it is getting a bit hard to start when cold. The column shifter is getting pretty stiff, as I've heard they usually do at this age, especially in cold weather, and it is also prone to jam up if you don't shift carefully. It would be a good candidate for converting to a floor shifter, or an automatic transmission. The rear bumper is heavy gauge steel, with a trailer hitch ball. The front bumper is not original, it was taken off a 70's era truck, and modified to fit this one.Recent water pump and fuel pump. The tires hold air and still have some tread remaining, but they are getting old, and they are starting to dry rot. Currently the front tires are on painted steel rims, and the rears are on chrome rims. There are 3 more matching chrome rims included, but the tires on those rims do not hold air.
