For Sale: 1978 CB400A Hondamatic. Need to make room for new project so letting my Hondamatic go.Factory Tahitian Red paint and sheet metal in excellent shape. 14,879 milesTags/registration current & clear Maryland title in my name. The Good: New tires, coil, plugs & plug wires, carbs rebuilt, forks rebuilt, front caliper & master cylinder rebuilt, braided stainless front brake line, new front brake pads, valves adjusted, crash guard & rear luggage rack, 2 keys. The Bad: Not currently 100% stock. The WTF: Modded with CB400T flywheel & stator, new CDI from CDI Magician and VB24C carb (24C carb from '80 Hondamatic, 24C carb has accelerator pump for better/smoother performance). "Slotted" front disc and caliper from later Hondamatic also. I have all the original parts except seat. Bike came with aftermarket "Saddlemen" seat when I bought it. Have extra airbox, air boots, box-o-stators and manual. All parts included in sale. Also included in sale is vintage, very rare, 2 into 1 custom exhaust made by Hooker Headers specifically for the CB400A. Exhaust has never been installed. Has some minor corrosion in spots from time on shelf but will clean up fine. Factory installation instructons included. According to instructions, foot tab on side kickstand will have to be bent slightly to install exhaust. Kickstands are readily available on eBay if you want to mod the bike and also keep a stock stand on hand. Will post pics of exhaust after I dig it out of my shed. Bike was owned by older gentleman who relocated to Florida and didn't want to bring the bike with him. Ran but needed some refreshing when I bought it. I've done all the work so you don't have to! Relisted. Previous winner was looking for a daily commuter. As much as I wanted to complete the sale, I suggested he probably wanted another bike since this is a 40 year old motorcycle with 40 year old technology. Local pick-up. Sold as-is, where-is.
