Vehicle Detail
I have owned this Jeep for 16 years. It has been in my own Jeep collection all this time. Driven only in the summer, lots of parades. Never taken off road or in the mud ever. I had bought this Jeep out of Arizona. I wanted a nice original CJ 5 for my collection. It has never been restored. The tub, floors, braces are all very nice and solid. Has some surface rust on the inside floors and on the front fender seams. Being in AZ all its life and the easy use I have given it the last 16 years has kept it so solid. It had a hardtop on it when I got it. It has the holes in the windshield frame and body from that top. I wanted a white soft top for it . Found out they havnt made one in 30 years. So the white CJ 5 tops that are out there sell for $ 1,000.00 to $ 1,800.00... I had to have one, so I bit the bullet and paid up for a NOS Whitco top........It looks great on the Jeep. Being from AZ the seats were all dried up. I sent the seats out to a custom shop and had them all redone. The combination of the white seats and the white top look really nice. . Its been touched up in a few spots. The fenders were painted at one time. It has not had any paint work done on it in the last 16 years that I have owned it. Ive got a can of touch up paint for it and have brush touched the chips over the years also. Has all the cool orig spot weld marks on the tub as they came from the factory. The wheels are original and I had all 5 of them refinished back when I bought the Jeep. I had gone to my local tire dealer and asked him to get me 5 " old school " white wall all season tires for it. They look great on the Jeep. Most all the orig Jeeps had the spare tire moved off of the 1/4 panels. I love that this Jeep still has the spare mounted there as it left the factory... I had the brakes and bearings gone thru about 3 years and 400 miles ago. Brakes work well. Exhaust is good. The engine runs great and has good power. Transmission shifts perfect and the clutch works well. Gas gauge stopped working this summer. Four wheel drive system works great. The Jeep drives down the road really nice. Wiper, speedometer, lights, horn, parking brake all work. Its not perfect of course, its a 41 year old original. It is a sweetheart tho. Has been part of our family all these years and we hate to see it go. +Unmodified originals like this are hard to find these days.............I've been watching the price of early Jeeps, Scouts, and Broncos and Land Cruisers ..... And they are all going up in value every year, and right now these jeeps are a bargain. On Sep-05-17 at 21:12:04 PDT, seller added the following information: There are 2 NOS tops on E Bay currently like the one I bought for this Jeep. A blue one for $ 2,900.00 ! and a White one for $ 2,500.00 ! Also, you might notice some brackets on the front bumper ... those were for a tow bar I had , as we towed this Jeep behind our motorhome from time to time.. DJ
