Garage Find! Here is your opportunity to purchase a very rare 1982 Eldorado Touring Coupe. This is a good running car that will need work to get it back to showroom condition. The good news is that it is a very rare model and will be worth the effort. I am losing my garage space, so I cannot keep it anymore. My loss will be your gain on this NO RESERVE auction! Cadillac built 454,405 third-generation 1979-85 Eldorados. However, they only built 4,297 Touring Coupes and only 1,700 in 1982 the first year they made them! I purchased this car on eBay 5 years ago from someone in New Jersey. The car was not running at the time and the previous owner had painted it black. Knowing what made Touring Coupe specials, I took a gamble on this one and it paid off! After receiving the car, I purchased the original build sheet and confirmed that it is one of the first year Eldorado Touring Coupes (see pictures for build sheet with VIN on it). Part of the many special items for a true Touring Coupe is reclining front bucket seats, Touring Suspension, extra-wide black wall tires and aluminum alloy wheels. Plus a front seat console, cloisonné hood ornament and red over black accent striping on Sterling Silver finish. (see pictures of original ads) The good news is that this car has the aluminum alloy wheels, the front bucket seats and console, the cloisonné hood ornament, Touring Suspension. The bad news is that the previous owner should not have painted it black. Black was not offered until 1983. Please look carefully at the pictures that I have uploaded. I have tried to do my best to show the condition of the car both inside and outside. The car is slightly wet in some of the pictures because I just got it out of the garage and washed it. I'm not trying to hide the condition of the paint. It would benefit from a thorough detail. Let me know if you have any questions. The body of the car is in very good shape with only minor dents and no rust (see pictures of doors and wheel arches)! The only major problems are the common fender extender problems with Cadillacs from the 80s. The plastic parts are brittle and broken and will need replaced (see pictures). There is also a part of the black paint coming off the driver's door (see pictures). The interior of the car is on the well worn side. The driver seat will need repair, the dash is cracked, the armrests on the door panels are cracked, the headliner is missing, the carpet will need steamed, the turn signal control arm is broken, window seals need replaced, etc. (please see pictures). The car runs really strong and stops and shifts well. Because it was not running when I purchased it, I focused on fixing the engine. The car benefits from complete fluid & filter changes, tune up including spark plugs, plug wires, distributor & cap, and belts, new starter, battery, fuel injectors, engine control module, and fuel pump. This is a very rare, great running car that will need someone who has the time and ability to do the cosmetic work to bring it back to what it should be. It does NOT have the original floor or trunk mats.2. The trunk and hood pistons are weak and do not hold them up anymore.3. The power seats DO work.4. The power windows DO work, they are just slow.5. The horn works.6. It still has the original factory self leveling air shocks. However, I was not able to get them to trigger. It could be a simple fix, but I don't know.7. It is missing the sail emblems.8. The AC does NOT blow cold. The controls in the car do work but it only provides warm/hot air.9. The Cruise Control DOES work.10. The windshield wipers do NOT work.11. Driver and Passenger mirror controls DO work. However, the driver mirror is loose and will need fixed.
