Vehicle Detail

YouTube Video of car running titled " 1968 Frost White Go Pack AMX " I picked the AMX up this past March. It had minimal use from previous owner during the 6 years of ownership. I had planned on doing a light restoration, over the next year or two. Our plans have changed, with a vintage truck or van now being a better fit for our needs. This is the only reason for the sale. *Here are items that need addressed...Wiper motor is missing, but the switch, all linkage and arms present. Rain X'd now. No washer fluid pump , but bag and hoses are present. In dash tach, clock are in-op. I replaced the speedometer cable, but bounces. Horn in steering wheel not working, but small red button under dash operates the horn. Front brakes are as new, with later model large single piston calipers. Drums, wheel cylinders, shoes, spring kit all new on rear brakes. New KYB shocks all four corners. Leaf and coil springs have been replaced at some point. Front end is tight with new components. Coker Classic redline tires. Rears 225-75-14, fronts 195-75-14. Age unknown. Black interior, originally red. Dash is in good shape. Steering wheel is decent with 1 separation. The headliner is good, with a droop in the middle. Carpet is ok. All Interior plastic panels are good. Kick panels have small speakers mounted in /behind. The upper rear panel has 2 6x9 speakers mounted, with power amp mounted in trunk. All glass is tinted. Glass has scratches. Seatbelts with shoulder harness. Heater works. On / off needs work, to stiff. Door panels, arm rests good shape. Sill plates are nice. The seats are early 1970s and adequate, driver seat has tears on outside bolster. Both plastic backs have scratches and repaired cracks. Rebuild or replace. This car is straight, paint quality is good with a nice shine. It is the factory Frost White. Paint chip size of quarter on leading edge of door/rear of fender ds, that has been touched up. paint chips bottom corners of rear glass. Lower rear quarters have been replaced, driver side has a couple tiny bubbles. Rockers, frame rails, trunk pan are solid. Both doors are nice, corners redone with metal. Lower lip is nice on both. Drivers door has chips on lower edge. Front bumper is exceptionally nice. Rear bumper is very thin on chrome but nice and straight. Grill has no cracks. Small wrinkle in driver side leading edge of front inner fender well. Not bad, but needed to be mentioned. The hood has infamous stress crack approx. 5 inches back from front. There are multiple stress cracks in paint at front of hood due to this. All rubbers on car have been replaced except the fuzzies and rubber sweeps on the doors. Stainless should be polished. Taillight housings are good. Lenses ok. Rear center lens has 2 small screws each side for mounting. Headlights, taillights, running lights and turn signals working. Reverse lights always on so bulbs removed. No spare. I planned to replaced the electric fuel pump with a mechanical pump. Also re-jet or replace carb with something a bit smaller. I was told by previous owner that the 390 and BW auto transmission were rebuilt 8 years ago. While both are clean with good paint, there is no paperwork to back this up. 390 has a lope from an upgraded cam. Newer Holley 8067-1 dual feed double bumper. Edelbrock Performer Aluminum intake, with Edelbrock finned aluminum valve covers. Older steel Hooker super comp headers. Unilite Electronic Distributor. Promaster Coil. Steering gearbox is rebuilt. Mini high torque starter. Aluminum 6 blade fan. Radiator rebuilt. Brake booster rebuilt. Master cylinder replaced. JEGS electric fuel pump and regulator with stainless hose to carb. I describe my cars as complete and honest as I can. I would not buy this car if you are a purest. Also, I have not had the time to fully shake down the car for reliability, so keep this in mind. No you should not drive it home, it needs to be trailered. This was bought to have fun with, period. It looks great, runs strong and draws alot of attention. For the opening bid, it is a steal! The AMX sells as is with no refund, or warranty. $1000 Paypal deposit is required immediately following auctions end. Balance in cash or bank transfer only and required within 7 days. I will work with a shipper, but buyer will be responsible for arrangement and payment. Check my feedback, I have been buying and seller here for 16 years. I will only ship to lower 48 states On Sep-07-17 at 05:47:12 PDT, seller added the following information: *This should have been stated initially. There is an area under each seat pan that will require a patch at some point. A 4" x 6" at most. The rest of pans are nice. The aftermarket aluminum brace kit has been added to each door glass track assembly for added strength. On Sep-07-17 at 09:26:43 PDT, seller added the following information: I will entertain offers to end the auction. I also have the car listed on multiple sites. On Sep-10-17 at 09:04:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I am getting questions regarding the over-all condition of the AMX. PLEASE read what I have written, it is accurate. However, I think it is also scaring some of you away. For a 50 year old mid-west car, it is surprisingly solid. This car shows extremely well, and mechanically the only issue I do not like is the electric fuel pump set up. I am completely unfamiliar with the set up. If it were a standard mechanical pump I would say fly in and drive it home. Not everyone has 30k+ to spend. If you have be looking for an affordable 2 seater, give this one consideration. I found the old ad for this car on the internet from a classic car dealer in Illinois, selling for 19.5k. That is what the previous owner paid for the car. The AMX showed well at local car shows this past summer. I have my elderly Mother living with my wife and I now, so I need a classic that will seat 3 to include her.On Sep-10-17 at 09:10:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention, I installed a new NAPA battery. On Sep-10-17 at 15:13:18 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer an ebayer, yes that is a shadow on the driver side fender. There is a clothes line pole next to the car.
