Vehicle Detail
RELISTED DUE TO A NON-PAYING BUYER. The price is $5,100 FIRM. Please read the description in full and only click "buy it now" if you are committed to following through with the transaction.Up for auction with NO RESERVE is my 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV. This is a former NY State Trooper vehicle that I purchased just over a year ago from one of their auctions. The truck has almost all highway miles on it. When purchased, it had 162,000 and now has a current reading of just over 185,000. It is being sold because I purchased a new car, and as much as I would love to, I cannot keep both. This Tahoe is in good overall condition. Mechanically, it needs very little. There are NO fluid leaks and the oil stays at a consistent level at all times as well as the coolant. I have always used Dexos synthetic oil and I’m sure that’s what the state police used too. The transmission was completely professionally rebuilt within the last 12,000 miles, the rear differential was replaced and upgraded to a Posi, and the truck has had a full brake job all around including emergency brake pads. I very recently changed the spark plugs and wires, with OEM parts, as they were due to be done. The truck starts readily all the time, idles smooth as could be, and drives and handles like a champ. I have the receipts to go with all work that has been done during my ownership. Regarding the body, the paintjob is good with no fading or major issues. There are some chips at the corners of each fender though, which can be seen in the photos. The truck could use a fresh waxing too. The rear bumper and one tail light were just replaced after a very minor rear-end hit while parked, but the truck has never been wrecked. The glass is good all around, aside from one chip in the windshield. The tints gradually become darker from front to rear, but are 100% legal. Also, the front bumper has a split in the passenger side corner, as can be seen in the photos. The tires are in good condition and the new owner should get at least 10-15K more miles out of them. The spare, however, is missing. The truck’s interior is in good condition and shows wear consistent with most police vehicles of this age. There are some rips in the driver’s seat, but the cushions can easily be replaced. Also, there are a few holes in the ceiling from equipment mountings, but all antenna holes in the roof are plugged and do not leak. This vehicle was not used for K9 transport, so there are no foul odors inside. The A/C and heat are both working well. One thing that may require some attention is a small exhaust leak from the driver’s side exhaust manifold gasket. There are no diagnostic lights illuminated on the dashboard, but this small leak does make some noise until the vehicle is fully warmed up. The spotlights were cut off and the push bumper was removed from the truck before I bought it. There are also no lights or sirens intact, however, the ballistic panels are still located inside the door panels, which is hard to find because the departments usually tear them out before these trucks are auctioned. Additionally, the GPS unit is still intact on the roof. Please view all the photos, feel free to ask any questions, and be sure to check out my other items! Payment will be accepted in CASH, IN-PERSON, UPON PICKUP -or- TELLER'S CHECK, within one week of the auction's end. Serious buyers only, please! Also, if you are seriously interested but would like to look the car over in person, please contact me through eBay to set up an appointment for viewing and driving. Thank you! Just a quick note: If you look in the 2017 Consumer Reports auto issue, the 2012 was rated the most reliable year for the Tahoe between 2007-2015 as a used vehicle. Also, according to my mechanic, from 2011 through 2014, these trucks were known to have improved valve clearance and far fewer lifter issues than earlier 5.3 LMG V8s.
