Vehicle Detail
On July 11th, 1967 Mr & Mrs Emil P. of Cheswick, PA took delivery of their brand new Plymouth Fury III . Purchased just across the river in Oakmont, PA at Hulton Motors it stayed in their possession for 50 years. The car was undercoated when new, garage kept, meticulously maintained ( every oil and filter change documented in owners manual), and used sparingly. The original Certi Card is still present with the car. The car has just eclipsed the 53,000 original mileage mark while in my possession. The car is rust free, straight, and runs and drives beautifully. There are no rattles, odd noises, shakes or shimmies. My garage floor has not seen a drop of any kind of fluid seeping or leaking. The word "survivor" gets thrown around a lot but this car truly is. The HH1 Dark Copper Metallic paint still has nice shine and is about 90% present. The passenger fender has been repainted at one time from the chrome strip down. The color is a good match but the metallic content is not the same. Hard to even get it to show up in the pictures. It was a paint only scrape that was repaired with no metal creasing or damage. I have taken a photo where they scraped the garage again. Paint only, no metal damage. The same paint color is present around the door lock on the drivers side (about the size of a softball). No evidence of any repair done there, must have just been a touch up. Other than that, this is about as unmolested as a 50yr old car can get. Floors and trunk are original and rust free. There are a few minor scratches and chips as you would expect for an unrestored car of this age but none of it detracts from the overall appearance. I have owned quite a few big Mopars over the years and this one is the most original. It still has the original trunk mat in it. All lights inside and out work perfectly (including trunk light, glove box light, and map light). Engine is the LA 318 with Carter 2 barrel. Automatic transmission. Original 2.94 geared rear for highway cruising. Manual drum brakes all around in good working order and power steering. Brand new belts, plugs, coil and plug wires for reliable starts and drives. I eliminated the points and condenser with a Pertronix Ignitor ii system. You can barely tell the engine is running at idle. Dashpad and headliner are mint. Seats do not even have any pulled threads or seam separation. Original carpet is still nice. Vinyl top is mint without any sun fade or dryness. Glass is fog and scratch free. All Stainless and chrome is really nice for the age. Bumpers are not rusty or pitted. Tires are brand new Hankook P225/75 R14 whitewalls. Less than 100 miles on tires. The following is the list of things that do not work on the car 1. Clock only right twice a day. 2. Lever that slides from Heat to Defrost is stuck. It may just need taken apart and cleaned but I have not gotten around to it. The temperature control slides normally and the heat works well. That's it. I will be happy to answer any additional questions or make myself available if you wish to see the car in person. I have a reasonable reserve set and the car can stay in my garage for a period of time if you need to make arrangements to have it transported. Method of payment will be either cash in hand or secure wire transfer. I have a clear PA title in my name. Interesting trades are not out of the question, nor are reasonable offers. I can be reached any time at 412-901-0064. NEW LOWER RESERVE.
