Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1977 Honda CB550 Modern Cafe Racer. Major modifications include sandblasted and powder coated chassis. Tail section of chassis has been modified. New cartridge shocks in the rear, gsxr front suspension with custom machined upper triple clamp and conversion neck bearings installed. Different / wider rear wheel laced to adapted hub which which holds modern sport bike rubber. The rear hub was made to adapt a rear disk brake system which consists of a small motocross bike master cylinder attached to the right rear set. Different front wheel laced to hub adapted to accept dual disc brakes, also has modern sport bike rubber. Full stainless exhaust with internal baffle / muffler. Hand made seat / tail section made from aluminum with hand bucked rivets. Seat padding is minimal yet suprisingly comfortable. I'm sure if you wanted something better a local upholstery shop could create a custom seat pad for minimal cost. Has high end Tarozzi rearsets, custom made clip-on handlebars, new mini tach and a custom mini mirror along with an iPhone 7plus cell phone holder (I use my cell for a speedo.... not included), modern clutch and brake levers with new cables, a aftermarket race throttle round out the view at the controls. Has a brand new ignition switch, minimal wiring, upgraded solid state regulator / rectifier. Electrical system has only one single fuse to aid with simplicity. Choke cable relocated as well. Engine removed, cleaned and painted, carbs removed, cleaned and rebuilt at time of restoration. Gas tank recently painted. Compact traditional style headlight with custom made aluminum mounts. Also has a brand new Zero Gravity brand sealed battery under the seat. Worth noting: Built as minimal as possible for better looks and to cut weight, this means no blinkers, no high/low beam switch, no horn (your state may require one). I use hand signals for direction indication which is allowed in my state. Gas tank does have some rust inside, I keep the tank topped up and run an in-line fuel filter and have had no carburetor issues. At times the clutch feels a bit grabby. See videos of recent ride and walk around here:https://youtu.be/hVEPHZjDvDUhttps://youtu.be/Ii_5hf4V--gThis bike draws many looks and thumbs up others on the road and crowds of people at motorcycle events. Something unique and sure not to have another one pull up along side you anywhere you go. I've been riding the bike for a little over a year and have put on roughly 1500 miles with no issues. The bike handles, and stops very well. You won't see many of these conversions with spoked wheels as they usually just slap on the ugly sport bike mag wheels.I encourage interested buyers to come and inspect the bike prior to purchase. I expect that all bidders ask all questions prior to bidding. Test rides require $6000 cash in hand or more if the bid is higher at time of test ride.I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as it's listed for sale locally. TERMSSorry to be so blunt but a minority of ebayers force me to these terms.
SHIPPING: I will assist with shipping but I expect you to make your own arrangements. I will make myself available so your shipper can pick up the bike. I will not be responsible for any damage or theft once the shipper takes the bike.
I have shipped overseas before but you accept and are responsible for all customs related issues and export fees.PAYMENT: $500 deposit in PayPal within 24 hours. For the remaining balance I only accept certified bank checks sent by registered mail or cash in person. I require remaining balance payment be made within 5 days of auction end, once this time has been reached I will reserve the right to sell to other parties through 2nd chance offers.
I also reserve the right to end the listing at any time and sell to other parties as this motorcycle is listed for sale locally. If you are picking up the bike in person with cash it must be completed within 5 days unless we agree to an extended time prior to auction end. If you will be shipping the bike I will allow up to 14 days after auction end for this to take place unless we agree to different terms prior (payment still required in 5 days).COMMUNICATION: I always reply to emails, I will not be responsible if you have a spam-blocker stopping my emails. I prefer email to communicate as I like all correspondence recorded within eBay in case there are any issues. Please ask all questions prior to bidding and know what you are bidding on before you bid.
I encourage all bidders to inspect the bike in person prior to bidding. Once the auction ends it belongs to the highest bidder, there will be no inspections after the auction end as at this point the bike is considered sold.FEEDBACK: Please do not leave poor feedback for me without trying to resolve problems with me first, in other words... at least give me a chance, I’m only human. I take pride in my awesome feedback rating. I am a reasonable guy, if your request is reasonable we can surely work out any problems. Last but not least.... please keep in mind that this is a 40 year old motorcycle. It's not 100% perfect, I've described / represented the motorcycle as accurately as I could, if I overlooked or forgot to mention something I can not be responsible for this. There is no warrantee expressed, written or implied as this motorcycle is being sold "as is".
