Vehicle Detail
1967 Volkswagen beetle. The highly sought after first year of the 12 volt system and last year of the big bumpers and swing axle transmission. This car is a good looking vehicle that I would personally rate a 7.5 - 8 out of 10. With a few more dollars it could be easily made into a 9 - 9.5 car. This vehicle was recently stripped down and gone through. All rusted out or decayed areas were replaced with new metal the car was then sanded to bare metal, primed and painted "cool rain" 2 shades darker than PPG teal. There is zero rust remaining in this car. The fenders were bolted into place and fiberglassed around to do away with the uneven joints normally associated with VW fenders. Rocker panels were installed on the underside of the car to do away with the unsightly Jack points etc. However running boards can still be installed for the original look if desired. The interior was removed from the car during the painting and floor pan repair stage new carpet was installed and everything was placed back in the vehicle. I would rate the interior its self an 8 - 8.5/10 the previous owner had already within the last 3 years recovered the seats and installed new door panels. This vehicle will come with working original Sapphire V radio a one year only radio that has a $500 value. Car also has the highly sought after rear pop out windows, new brakes, brake lines, and master cylinder. The previous owner had spent over $800 on the engine and brakes back in May. This is not the original engine however is a 1600 CC dual port engine out of a 72 super beetle it has the AE code case with the larger 10mm case studs. Things that I would do if I were keeping the vehicle. These are not necessity items however I tend to be a picky person. New tires- the ones on it drive and hold air however show early signs of dry rot. New windshield and door rubber. Rear windshield rubber has been replaced however the remaining window rubber could use freshening up as it has some cracking in it. Replace glued on portions of headliner in rear and sides of the vehicle. The main headliner is solid and good looking with no rips or tears however the portion that goes around the rear windows and is glued down has some wrinkles in it someone with some skills may be able to repair however I am not an upholstery guy. New battery - the one in it is toast. Running boards - I already have them and may install before end of auction unless someone objects to this. I encourage anyone anyone bidding on this vehicle to come look at it in person and test drive it before bidding or buying as your view of the car may differ entirely from mine.PayPal deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of end of auction and is non-refundable. Please refrain from placing a bid on this vehicle if you do not intend on purchasing it. The reserve is set at a modest $3650.00. I will report non paying buyers to ebay as they will have wasted my time and money. On Jul-13-17 at 12:55:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Running boards have been installed and a new battery purchased. Please see the last 4 photos for pictures of running boards. I think it drastically helps the look.
