1978 Honda CM400T

This is a REAL BARN FIND that I purchased from a person who got it from his dad. 1978 HONDA CM400 is complete and the engine has strong compression when I kick start. The bike does not run currently, but I took the carbs off and they are ready to be cleaned. I have not changed anything and I have not checked for spark. These CM400 Honda's are real sleepers, with a top speed of about 95MPH The wheels have some tarnish , but nothing real bad, as do the handlebars and the forks. I would guess an hour with some good buffing compound and chrome polish and this will look pretty damn good. I mean its almost 40 years old and its clean. I would give this a good power washing, clean and armorall the seat, which is in real good shape, and I believe this will be a great bike . Just 16,500 plus miles on it, but anyone who knows these engines, knows they are almost bullet proof. The tank is really clean because the guy I got it from said he drained the tank when he stored it in his barn. I see no rust at all inside. Yes the tank paint is faded, but again, buff it out. It will need a rear tire at least and the hydraulic front brake will probably need to be bled at the least. I reall have done nothing to it since I got it except remove the carbs. The pipes look really good and this rolling project rolls nicely. I think I have the side covers somewhere but unless I can find them, assume they are not included. Buyer will pick this up in Colebrook Ct. Paypal payment to be received prior to pickup and this is being sold as is and I have NO title. no title needed in Connecticut, but alot of states require one, so if you ask for a title because you need one in your state, there is not one. Bottom line, this will make a great restore or make it into a custom cafe racer. The foundation is ready to go.
