1957 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop BEING RELISTED DUE TO BIDDER WHO DID NOT FOLLOW THROUGH. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE. For Sale at No Reserve is a 57' Chevy Bel-Air 2 door hardtop coupe that started life as a 4 door hardtop. Conversion was done before current owner obtained car and title states 4 door so must assume it was converted at some point. Everything is all steel everywhere. It was parked in a garage for almost 30 years. Will make a great driver, a classic car you can actually use. You will not believe the attention this car draws. Current Owner was doing a full restoration before health issues ended the resto prematurely. Most of the big $$ items have been very nicely done. Very solid car, exterior is nice with a new high quality silver paint job. Needs locks, rear badging and wipers. The interior needs to be finished. Dash is lacking a couple gauges and trim, need sill for 1 window. Door panels and carpet while there and clean with no rips still should be redone to match. Seats are in fine condition with no tears or rips. I would replace buckets with the original bench but that is my taste. Wiring needs to be completed but Simple Wire Harness is in place, just needs running and connecting. A/C is installed but has never been charged. Engine is a Numbers Matching Block with Polished and Ported Heads, Custom Cam, Edelbrock Performer Manifold, and a Holley 750 cfm Double Pumper. It sounds as good as any car I have ever heard. A deep rumble that makes your heart lift. 2 1/2" dual exhaust straight back off the headers. Disk Brakes upfront. Floors have been done and are solid. Trim around front and rear windows needs to be put back on and most pieces are supplied. Rear window seal, is incorrect 2 piece which has left 2 gaps thus the blue tape, needs to be changed and is included. Windows are electric but rear windows need some attention to function properly, currently down, 1 can be moved manually. Tires are all good and 1 is brand new, 1 has silver on it and needs replacing, all hold air fine. Car was taken out of storage and with very little effort it was running like a champ. Yesterday drove it to the gas station and noticed it was getting hot. Looks like thermostat is probably sticking and needs replacing or install an electric fan and it should be good to go. We have only run it for a minute since then, not allowing it to get too hot. Car cannot be driven any significant distance currently. We are not mechanics just trying to help a family sell an old friends car. If you come to look at the car we will not run the engine for more than a minute. No other major engine issues, it is strong. The car actually drives nicely for such a big beast, steering although not power is reasonable, especially at any speed above 10mph. She drives straight with no pulling. Steering wheel will need replacing with a nice one. She moves very quickly and shifts very nicely and reverse etc. is fine. Brakes will need a going over, not stopping like it should but with discs in the front once again the hard and expensive work has been done. This is a great chance to pickup an awesome 57 Chevy Bel-Air that you can use and enjoy as a driver for a great price. The big work has been done, finish it off with your touches and enjoy. The looks and conversations people will give you is amazing. When you drive it anywhere people will come over and take pictures and just start asking questions.
