Vehicle Detail
I hate to do it but here it is, my 1959 Chevy El Camino....... This car runs and rives perfectly. The original 348ci engine purrs like a kitten with no smoke at all, no noises or anything needing fixing other than the tri carb linkage. It's running off of the center carb perfectly & I have all of the linkage but it needs to be installed (if you want). This is the original 348ci tri carb engine. Though not shown in the pictures, the original air cleaner with the two intake snorkels is here. The paint is flawless! It shines like a mirror with absolutely no waves, orange peel, scuffs or scrapes. The chrome is also perfect & shines like the day it was new. The gauges all work along with all of the lights. Newly replaced items: Brakes Tie rods, ball joints etc. 4 new Tires Generator/power steering pump Steering box Interior I'll think of more and add it to this listing. The interior has new door panels & the original bench seat was recovered to match The bodywork was completed before the car was shipped to me from Arizona. There was no major bodywork other than paint. The floor pans behind the seat were replaced by the original owner. Please don't call or ask if I'll sell it "right now" for $24,25,26k, I am not going to sell the car before the auction is over. I've sold many things on Ebay & when I've had offers, it just screws things up & often, they don't work out anyway. There is a starting price and a "buy it now" which is what I will sell it for (which will end the auction). Please ask questions before bidding. If you have "0" or bad feedback, I'm sorry but I'll have to remove your bid if you don't contact me first. You are welcome to come to Greenwich, CT to inspect the car & I'll take you for a short ride down the road. If you buy this & come here and say it's now as advertised, we can cancel the deal. It's that good! If you are unable to get here before the auction ends, look up a few of the Connecticut car clubs & get someone to inspect it for you. That's what I did when it was in Arizona & it worked out perfectly. He made the deal for me and put me together with the body shop for the paint work. I'm on a HGTV show (Flea Market Flip) & don't need anyone trashing me online. I have over 600 positive feedback comments with ZERO negative. I have sold late model cars, boats, machinery, high end art & all sorts of misc things & if you read them for a while, you will see comments like "better than described" and lots of great feedback about me. Thanks for looking! David2039625494 On Jun-19-17 at 20:57:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry I forgot to specify, it's a 4 speed manual transmission. A person sent me a message that in fact 1959 El Camino's did have an option for 4 speed on the floor. There was a designation on the tag but often, they did not include the letter "U" (I think that was the letter)but all the assembly plants did not get the designation information until the 1960 models came out. Some had the "U" and some didn't even though they had the 4 speed. He collects '59 Chevys and knows this for a fact as some hade it and some didn't even though they were factory 4 speeds on the floor. On Jun-22-17 at 17:46:29 PDT, seller added the following information: A few things to add. 1. I have one person who is saying it "might not" be an original 4 speed car & that it possibly was a 3 speed on the column. I like the 4 speed on the floor personally so it doesn't bother me. I have had discussions with four other collectors who feel that since someone paid the extra fee for the 348ci tri carb engine, he probably went for the upgraded transmission as well. If being a 4 speed on the floor that "might" not be the original configuration, please don't bid. This might not be the car for you. 2. I've now had three people who have asked if it's safe enough to drive to Texas, California and Kansas. Could you drive it that far? Sure, you could but would you really want to? No a/c & these cars have low ratio rear end gears so they aren't high speed highway rockets. Back in '59, people used to go a lot slower. If you want to go that far at 55 or 60mph, be my guest but if I were buying a classic car (like I did), call Reliable Carriers (they do the Barrett Jackson vehicles). It cost me $1160 for them to deliver it from Arizona to my house in Connecticut. 3. Yes! This is the car that's been seen several times on ABC;s "Good Morning America" with Lara Spencer behind the wheel! It's also appeared on HGTV (I'm on "Flea Market Flip" also with Lara) as well as a few calendars. 4 BUY IT NOW. Yes, I did have a "Buy It Now" price of $34,000 but if an item gets a bid, the buy it now option goes away. I will sell it for the original Buy It Now price. 5. Questions. Please text me our questions. It's the fastest way to get a response from me. Thank you! David2039625494
