Vehicle Detail
********** LISTING THIS RARE NOVA SS AT A REDUCED RESERVE ********** PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BELOW DESCRIPTION AND VIEW ALL PHOTOS BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS. IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED IN THIS CAR, I PREFER YOU CALL ME WITH QUESTIONS. This original factory V8 AC equipped 65 Nova SS with 118 vin code, was purchased new in California. It then became an Arizona car in 2016 until I obtained it late in 2016. The car currently has 79750 actual miles. It comes with the original owner's Protect-o-Plate, original owner's manual, and an original options brochure Car is completely rust free and still retains it's vin# stamped original factory rear quarter panels with no evidence of any body work ever being done. The car's underbody and subframe is also rust and scale free, however, the right rear floor pan has been replaced. It was professionally fit and butt welded into place with a correct fit floor pan to keep everything looking factory original. All other original floor pans are solid. The body has been repainted in the original Ermine White, with a better than factory gloss. I would rate it very nice driver or local show quality. There is no rust, rust bubbles, or blisters anywhere in the paint. The original Aqua color interior has be changed to Red, and is completely new from the carpeting to the headliner, and done using all factory correct type materials and colors. All the dash chrome trim has been replaced. The gauge cluster has also be refurbished. 95% of the rubber weather stripping is new. The chrome, aluminum, and stainless is very nice and seems to be original. I believe all the SS emblems are new. The New GM Rallys are 15X7 with new195/60 frt. and 245/60 rr. tires The original 283 engine has been upgraded to a 350 crate unit. I do not know the HP rating, but it runs very strong, and the performance lets know it's not the original 283 even though it is configured to look like it did back in 1965. The intake manifold is a vintage Edelbrock Performer with the oil fill tube provision. It also retains the original Nova specific engine oil pan, and Chevrolet script valve covers. The carburetor is a 650 Holley. The exhaust system retains the original rare Nova specific cast iron manifolds with 2 1/2" aluminized dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers, which produce a very throaty tone. The original powerglide transmission has been upgraded to a turbo 350 with a shift kit that produces crisp but not harsh shifts. This highly factory optioned Nova SS came equipped with the following: N40---Power steering J50---Power brakes U16---Ultra rare in dash tachometer C60---All weather Air conditioning (includes HD radiator) B70---Padded dash A01---Soft ray tinted glass (all glass) Z01--- Comfort and convenience group A49---Seat belts with re-tractors G76--- 3.36 conventional axle ratio The radio is an after market Custom Auto Sound unit. The original front power drum brakes have been converted to CCP discs for improved braking performance, and at this time 2" dropped spindles were installed. A new tinted windshield has also been installed, and the rear window seal as well as 95% of all other rubber seals and gaskets, have been replaced. All the original tinted glass is excellent. The gas tank has been replaced. The AC blows ice cold. This car comes with some documentation which includes the original Protect-o Plate in original owners name, original owners manual, and a sales brochure. GM only produced 9100 Nova SS's in1965 and was the first year that the SS had a specific Vin#, and the 65 seems to be the most popular of the first generation cars, and this one is ready, with all the rare and desirable options, for you to drive and enjoy just the way it is. The mechanical modifications done greatly improve all facets of driving performance of this car while keeping the original factory stock appearance, which seems to be quite popular in today's collector and antique car market. In terms of DESIRABILITY, I think this car hits the mark--- It's a CHEVY SS---a dry SOUTH WESTERN car--- MANY RARE OPTIONS--- LOW ORIGINAL miles---has DOCUMENTATION---in EXCELLENT condition---EASY to drive with EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE. Please note: my above description is as I asses the car. It is a 52 year old car, and not perfect, but one that anyone would be proud to own and enjoy. I am not a dealer, just a guy that likes old cars who has been involved in the collector and antique car hobby over 50 years. I feel I can give you an honest evaluation of what I am selling, but please don't construe that my description is any type of guarantee whatsoever. On May-28-17 at 08:30:14 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE: I do not intend to give any miss information, and stand corrected on the no's stamped next to the trunk lid channel of the rear quarter panels. These no's are very hard to read and after further research I have learned that these are GM identification no's that the stamping plant stamped in them when manufactured. They are not part of the vin no. Sorry for the confusion.
