These Fords were a radical departure from earlier designs - longer, wider and much more stylish than any previous model. This fully restored '57 Fairlane 500 2 DOOR HARD TOP is a beautiful example of that concept. The restoration was done way back in 1990 and is a decent restoration, but by far not a show winner but a vary nice daily cruiser.The car is vary solid original a Texas car. All chrome is completely all original and will need to be redone if desired. All windows roll up and down fine, horn works, all lights and signals are good working order. Paint has come paint chips and cracks from old body repair, we are talking about a 60 year old car so please don't expect a new car. The interior has been completely restored to custom like appearance with original seat frames. The best vary part of this classic car is the dependable drivetrain on this classic Ford, Powered by 302ci V8. with Brand new exhaust system. Rebuilt AOD automatic 3 Speed transmission relocated on the floor shift. Famous Ford POSI 9 inch rear end. "THIS FORD WAS BUILT TO DRIVE ANYWHERE" VARY RELIABLE CAR!! Professional machine work was performed on the engine block with a .030 overbore, new cam, bearings, pistons, polished crank and headwork. The carburetor is the Ford 2BBL. Car starts right up without hesitation, the Transmission shifts nice. You could go to any autopart store and get anything you want for the drivetrain without waiting for it. This car was sitting by the original owners family since 5 yr. in the garage before the estate sale, so I would have done to it is a new set of tires put on due to old age, I recently put a tune up and a rebuilt carb Runs smooth!!
