This XK8 was sold new by Nalley Jaguar in Atlanta and taken back by them in trade. I bought it from them in July 2011 and it served as my daily driver for four years. For the past two years, it has been used only for shows and pleasure drives. The 4.2 liter V8 runs perfectly with a sewing-machine idle and strong acceleration, and the ZF 6-speed shifts smoothly. The air conditioner blows ice cold and all climate control functions work well. All electronic functions work with the only issue being an intermittent airbag warning (code 51, which indicates an issue with the driver seat belt, usually caused by a dirty connector). I've changed the oil using only full synthetic every year or 10k miles, and the battery was replaced in March 2015. Besides the top hydraulic system, the only common mechanical issues with this series is failure of the thermostat housing and the "octopus" coolant hose, and I have replaced both. Otherwise, these cars are VERY reliable and trouble-free. I am president of a British car club and know these cars well. I have never seen another one at a show. This car presents very well for its age and miles, with no accident history and only minor scratches and a couple of small dings. The interior is clean with below-normal wear, and offers a stunning look with the Carbon Fiber Package-exclusive two-tone ivory leather and charcoal Alcantara. The full leather steering wheel and aluminum trimmed pedals and shifter surround are also exclusive to the package. And, of course, the dash, console and door panels are trimmed in genuine carbon fiber.
