Vehicle Detail
Hello Folks, First of all, sorry for the photos- they were taken in the warehouse with a camera on my phone- they were the best I could get in those conditions. Hopefully they are good enough to let you know what you are getting. Now, on with the description: This is a 1967 Triumph T120R project bike. I have had to move. I no longer have my shop to work in so it has to go. This Triumph isn’t running and is only loosely assembled so you all can get a better idea of what is included in the auction. As you can see in the photos, there is a big pile of parts goes with it. There are a lot more parts here than you will need to complete the bike but I am just throwing it all in together. MOST but not all the parts you will need to complete the bike are here, some of the major exceptions that I know of are noted in the description.Mileage is unknown since I bought the speedometer for this bike because the old one was missing. Ok, Here are some of the highlight is what has been done so far: · The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner. I pulled the cylinder head and took a look and it does have new pistons and freshly honed cylinder walls. It ran perfectly when I bought it. The bike has been apart for approximately two years. · The forks have been rebuilt with new rubber and internals · The front wheel has a new rim and has been re-laced and trued. · Everything has been media blasted and repainted/powder coated. · Just look at the photos and you can see most of what has been done! · Many of the fasteners have been replaced with correct cadmium coated, whitworth or SAE thread bolts and nuts where appropriate. · I am including some reference books too, owners manual, shop manual, parts manual and a nice coffee table book that gives lots of close-up details of original Triumphs · TONS of new parts including a new rear fender, all rubber, new seat, handle bars, headlight bucket, etc. etc. **** The VIN has an extra digit**** I do not know why that is. The VIN stamped on the frame has an extra number from what appears to be the factory. I did not consider this to be a problem but I want you to know about it! **The bike has been inspected by my state and the number was run to make sure it was not stolen** * I have a clear title issued to me* Things you will need if you want to restore it to factory condition: · Exhaust- pipes are old, and mufflers are missing. · Front fender. (The original one was bobbed but I am throwing it in with brackets in case you want to use it.) · The purple painted area on the tank should have another coat or two applied and then a clear coat. I had to move before my painter could finish and now he has moved away. I am including the leftover paint with the bike so you can finish that. It is fresh from late last summer and came from Hutchinson cycle, so is the correct stuff! · Wiring harness- (I pitched the patched together mess that came with the bike.) There should still be some salvaged connectors and things included though. · I think the horn is later- so not correct for this year. · Probably more but those are some of the things I recall. The original cover for the primary is included but needs some serious polishing or more to make it right. I have a later cover on the engine now that gives better access but is wrong for the bike. Please do not ask if any vehicle in the background is for sale- it is not. Please read the description carefully. If I missed anything, please feel free to ask for clarification. I am not a real Triumph Expert or anything, but I will do my best. I have an excellent shipper who has always been to lowest cost and has treated me right. I will be happy to give the winner of the auction their contact information.
