Vehicle Detail

1964 Sunbeam Tiger Mark 1matching numbers Original color (code 58) Midnight Blue VIN B9470336LRXFE. Chassis JAL 550357 Tiger was barn stored in Pennsylvania for 30 plus years. A collector from Florida purchased the Tiger a few years ago. He media blasted the car on a rotisserie both inside and outside and underneath and then epoxy primer applied . The floor pans were absolutely perfect with only a few holes drilled for a roll bar needing repair. We purchased the car in 2015 and started full restoration. The body has no signs of being in any wrecks. The fender flares are all stock! The rocker panels were replaced, along with the front valance. Entire car was painted the original Midnight Blue color. The odometer reading of 6,012 is believed to be correct but cannot be authenticated. Original 260 engine (#1355 4E23-6015E) was rebuilt by boring for 30 over pistons, polished crank and cam. Heads were redone with new valves and seats. New Pertronix Electronic Flame Thrower Distributor, New aluminum intake, New 600 CFM Holley double pumper carb. Engine has less than 50 miles since rebuild and runs awesome. Generator re-built. Cooled by new Griffin radiator. Headers and flow through exhaust let this Tiger growl! Original Top Loader 4 speed HE 11481 rebuilt with new synchros and seals, and shifts fine. Shift handle chromed. New brake and gas lines. Will include new brake booster with sale (but decided to not to install it) and brakes work fine. All new rear brakes in stock rear end (J64507) and front calipers rebuilt with stainless steel pistons. LAT traction bars. Solid wood dash. All gauges, switches, horns, wipers, heater (new motor) , all work great. Tach rebuilt to read electronic ignition. The speedometer and lower odometer read correctly but the trip odometer on top doesnt't seem to start recording??? JVC CD AM/FM stereo with 4 speaker surround sound. New Moto Lita Steering wheel. Stainless Steel bolts used throughout. New VTO wheels and Uniroyal Tiger Paws 14 inch tires. Gas tanks chemically flushed and sealed. New black top, upholstery and carpet. All exterior chrome redone including bumpers and guards. Windshield has a couple of wiper "scratches" but nothing to block vision. There is no doubt that this is an original Tiger, note spare tire location, battery trunk mounts, holes for spark plug/valve covers, transmission tunnel mod, frame exhaust cutout, and generator mod to inner fender. Original VIN was removed for restoration work, but is the correct VIN for this Tiger. I have another Tiger ready to start and have limited garage space so you can enjoy this part of Carroll Shelby history. Only 7700 Tigers were produced from 1964 through 1967.
