Vehicle Detail
Here you are bidding on a good running 1999 Toyota Camry CE 4 cylinder car that is good on gas. This car is in Baltimore, MD, and the title is a clean Maryland title in my name, and I am the seller of the car. Let me start with the positive things about the car that I know. Keep in mind this is an 18 year old car, and with anything used of this vintage there will always be some negatives. I'll do this in laundry list format: *This toyota has only 111,665 miles on it, and it's just had the timing belt and water pump replaced, along with the bearings under the timing cover, power steering belt, and serpentine belt. The aforementioned all with top end Japanese parts. *The car has had a full tune up including NGK plug wires, plugs from Toyota, thermostat and red coolant from Toyota, and the o-rings for the fuel injectors were replaced for good measure on this older car. *the tires are a fairly new matching set of Firestone Affinity Touring tires with excellent tread. *The front control arms and rotors were replaced in order for this car to pass Maryland inspection, which it did. *newer wipers on the front *a good stock sound system with a Pioneer CD play with remote. Very nice. *A brand new radiator straight from the Toyota dealer was installed as well. *This car drives straight and smooth down the road. The transmission shifts good through all gears with no problems and the motor is strong. I would trust this car for 100,000 miles of driving. *The car has newer hub caps with one spare, and a tool for removing them without breakage. The wheels each have a lock with a key provided, and the car also comes with a free club and key provided. *The front corner and headlight assemblies were replaced with aftermarket, which look pretty good. *Brakes, rotors, and exhaust have no issues to worry about for a long while, and I believe as soon as this car has the short in the signal repaired, it will be an easy inspection for anyone anywhere. The oil change is recent, and the car has some gas in it, about half I think, so the auction winner can drive off if they choose. *The AC works good, I know that's important over the summer months, so no worries there. The heat works great as well. Now for those negative things I promised you: *the car could use paint on the hood, bumper, and some other places, in my opinion, you don't need to paint the whole car for it to look great again. The front bumper has a crack, the front and rear bumper are scuffed, and the rear door has a dent and scratch. There a plenty of other blemishes and dings on the car. *And finally, here is the only major issue. There is an electrical problem with the car. The turn signal fuse blows when you try to operate the turn signals, and the hazard flasher fuse blows when you try to turn the hazards on. I'm not here on ebay to trouble shoot this with you, I apologize, but I'm not interested in doing that, which is why the car is for sale. It could be anything, and it could effect a number of components on the car. I'm a jack of all trades but master of none, so I could not figure it out myself and I'm selling this car with this problem. I thank you for taking any interest in my auction, it's always appreciated. I've tried to be as open and honest as I can about the description of this car. I would say the interior is fairly decent, with no headliner sagging. I did not smoke in the car, but the previous owner did. There is a burn or two on the dash, and I think maybe one on the door panel. The car does not smell and is pretty clean. I've had it at least two years now. I originally purchased this car as a backup to have in case my Subaru failed me. I drove it for about a year with my Subaru out of service, and then parked it right back in my garage when I had the Subaru fixed. I always planned on having it as a ready to go well kept back up car, which is why all the major work has been done on it. I think for anyone who knows anything about electrical work on cars, this will be a great investment in inexpensive transportation, and the right auction winner will be very happy with this economy purchase. I will accept payment via PayPal if you pay the 3% PayPal charges, but would rather cash in person. If you feel the need, you can text any questions you have to 443-694-1738. My name is Lester. Once again, thank you for looking in on my eBay auction, and as always, good luck bidders! On Apr-09-17 at 12:52:26 PDT, seller added the following information: To all members: The affair of selling a car on eBay is a time consuming one, so I will be screening my bidders. What this means is, if you bid on this car, at some point I will look up your information and likely try to contact you before the auction closes if you don't reach out to me first. If your feedback is less than 100% I might cancel your bids solely for that reason. I've had to restart my auctions in the past because of non-paying bidders, so please understand my apprehension. If you are scraping to gather funds to buy this cheap car, then you are probably not ready to buy a car. I'm not judging anyone, and I understand from having had many things I wanted just out of my reach many times, when it was only a matter of not even a couple hundred dollars. It just wasn't my time. I will expect the winning bidder to be ready to pay in full the day after the auction closes with no hassles and good communication. I will be flexible within reason, and maybe even more flexible if there is good honest straight forward communication, which can be made with a simple phone call to the number I've provided in the listing. I'm very easy to get along with, so no worries. On Apr-10-17 at 21:22:12 PDT, seller added the following information: To the person who asked if the car is leaking any oil or transmission fluid. No, but as with any 18 year old vehicle with over 100,000 miles, it's not perfectly dry like a 5 year old engine with only 50,000 miles. I drive my cars between 3,000 and 3,500 miles between oil changes. This car has no fast drips, nor does it leave any kind of noticeable fluid puddles of any kind on the ground where I park it. The valve cover gaskets "sweat" a little oil, as they almost all do on cars with over 100k miles. Valve cover gaskets on this car are nothing I'd be in a rush to get replaced any time soon, but if you really wanted to be perfect it's not that tough of a job if your inclined. I never had to add oil or any other fluids between oil changes either. When the timing belt was done the cam seal was replaced with a new one for good measure, although there was nothing wrong with the old one upon inspection. It is also good to know, the front differential fluid was drained about half way and then refilled to check the condition, which was good. The front differential fluid will be good for a very long while, and so will the transmission fluid, which is healthy and red after a couple of drain and fills within the last year or so. Hope this helps.
