Vehicle Detail
This may well be the lowest mile vintage Lambretta on the planet! Just 17.6 miles on the odometer. I purchased 2 scooters out of an estate a few years back. I sold one of them soon after I purchased them and kept this one. The other one had about 35 miles on it. Both scooters were stored in a building that was packed full with all kinds of stuff. The scooters were completely covered with all kinds of junk The son-in-law, who was cleaning out the estate, had no knowledge of them and didn't know they were even in there. They were stored poorly and have deteriorated some. We can only speculate on how they got there. Possibly the deceased owner had purchased both for himself and his wife. Soon after maybe a near accident or lost interest and just put them away. Titles and keys could not be found, so it is being sold with no title on a bill of sale only. I looked up the serial number and I believe it is a 1979 model, but not sure. I've had this scooter for a few years now and have decided to sell it, because I'm getting older and I'll never do anything with it. Upon close inspection it looks very much like the miles are true. All the tires are Firestone "Gum Dipped" and Fabricado En Espana (Made In Spain) The 2 on the scooter and the spare are in like new condition. Lambretta Servetas were manufactured in Spain. The condition of the seat and the rubber mats on the floorboards show no wear. All the paint finish is the original paint from the factory. However, because of poor storage, there are nicks and flaws in the finish. The building was damp and without any heat, so some parts have rusted. Examine the photos closely to see the condition. I noticed the end of the speedometer cable where it goes into the front wheel has rusted and twisted off. (probably when someone pushed it turning the front wheel) Mechanically, it will need some attention to get it running again. The engine cranks and has compression, but no spark... possibly because the ignition switch is out of it. After removing it from storage, someone removed the ignition switch to replace it with a new one with a key because the key was lost. I have the old and new ignition switch w/ key that needs to be installed. I don't think the new switch is correct for this model because there are more wires coming out of the new one. Also, the gas tank was removed drained, cleaned and installed back onto the scooter. I'm not a scooter mechanic, but I think someone who knows about these things could get it running again without much effort. There is no battery in it. I have a very low starting price and what I believe is a low reserve on it as I'm liquidating items I no longer need. I doubt you will ever find another with these low miles and original condition. It's a great piece for a collection. NO TRADES. Just bid what you want to pay. There is no buy it now, but I might consider a strong offer if I don't have bids. If there is active bidding, the auction will go on to the end. Winning bidder to pay a $250.00 non refundable deposit through paypal or overnight mail within 24 hours. Balance to be paid within 3 days by bank wire into my checking account or cash if you are coming to get it. Buyer must arrange shipping at buyer's expense or pick it up at my home. I will help load. I'm easy to get to as I live less than 2 miles from interstate Route 70 in Pennsylvania
