HOLLYWOOD CELEBRITY CAR. This Ghia is the most photographed Karmann Ghia in Hollywood. Used in many parades, photo shoots, ads and movies this flawless 1966 Ghia is now being offered for sale. I purchased the car almost 10 years ago from a private seller. The Petersen Automobile Museum was bidding for the car as well but the owner wanted a buyer who would drive and enjoy the car as opposed to sitting in a museum. This car was a combination of 2 Ghias so it has the chassis of a 1968 and the body of a 1966 so it's legally registered as a 1966. VW never made a black/red color combo for 1966 so this was a custom renovation which has won this car awards at classic car shows. The car came with after market chrome rims which I switched out for the original smoothies to keep the mid 60s look. You will see early photos with the chrome rims before I removed them. The car is damn near close to perfect inside/outside and starts in 1 second. The car has not been exposed to rain or water in over 8 years so it is truely rust free.
