My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1995 Volvo 855 Turbo. I used to sell a dozen or so of these per year. However, they have been getting harder and harder to come across. I would rate the exterior of this 855 Turbo to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking estate. It is finished in dark green over gray leather interior. As with any older car, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific Volvo, there is visible clear coat peeling on the hood, fenders and roof as well as a dent in the right fender. The paint shines nicely, otherwise. The body lines are all nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. All of the trim and cladding is present and shows well. The factory throwing star wheels also show well for their age and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with average tread all around. The tires do lose air after sitting a few days so you may want to look at replacing them. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this 855 Turbo to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show well for their age throughout the interior. The dash and headliner are clean, too. It looks as if the front seats have been recovered. The seats are clean and comfortable. The power windows, locks, seat, sunroof and mirrors all work properly. The audio system is original and sounds good. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. It's a little too cold to tell whether or not the air conditioner is working, but I can tell you that the heater works well. The cargo area is spacious and clean. The wood interior accents show very well for their age and indicate that this Volvo most likely spent most of her life sheltered from the sun. Again, please check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this Volvo will need a few normal odds and ends, but appears to run fine. The 2.3L turbocharged engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. You can feel that the front end will need a full set of bushings. You can drive the car, but I'd plan on replacing basically everything rubber in the near future. The engine keeps perfect temperature and makes good power. I bought this car simply because I couldn't remember the last time I saw an 855 Turbo come through wholesale...but then I parked it and forgot about it. She needed jumped but started right up. The engine sounded a little tappy and there was a trace of smoke coming out of the tail pipe. Neither of these were present when I first got the car. My guess would be that the valve seals weep a little and the lifters just lost their prime. Both of these should go away with an oil change and frequent use. The ABS and Tracs lights are on. I can't remember if they were on when I first bought this car...so they may go out on their own after some use...or you may just have a dirty wheel speed sensor. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. With a little bit of love, this could be a nice turbo wagon for somebody. If you've been looking for one of these, you know how hard they are to find anymore...especially a 95 that doesn't have all the OBD2 emissions junk. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
