Easy to Read Full Instrumentation ……. 3.2 Liter Inline 6-Cylinder Engine ………   Description: This is Volvo’s flagship model, the S80.  Over the years, Volvo has equipped this model with a variety of engines and this one is equipped with the popular 3.2 Liter Inline 6-cylinder.  Back in 2008, the Volvo brand was owned by Ford and this compact and powerful engine was also shared with the midsized Land Rover Vehicles.  This car was traded locally in Atlanta and we bought it since it was so clean.   But, of course, you expect vehicles this nice from Grove Automotive Group, Inc.! Options: Finished in polar white and tan colored leather upholstery, this VERY CLEAN 2008 Volvo S80 features about everything that you expect in a Swedish luxury sedan beginning with the smooth and responsive 3.2 Liter inline 6-cylinder engine teamed with the 6-speed automatic, driver, passenger and side SRS (air bags), fully automatic climate control featuring a factory R134a refrigerant charge, 4-wheel ABS (anti-lock brakes), factory sunroof, power windows, central locking system, power mirrors, power seats, heated front seats, factory alloy wheels, factory sound system,  4-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, rear window defroster, factory security system, driver’s information center and much more!   Yet ANOTHER Clean Ride! This vehicle is riding on very good set of Michelin Primacy™ tires!   Service and Inspection Report – Value Added:   We brought this clean Volvo in for service and found that the prior owner had taken care of the car.  It appears to have been regularly serviced.   The engine in this vehicle is shared with other products of the time including Land Rover.  It is a very compact design but some of the service items can be difficult for the average consumer.  As such, we decided to give the vehicle a major service to add value for our customer.   We installed a new OEM Volvo water pump, serpentine belt and idler wheel since getting to these parts when the vehicle is back together is a full day job.  The remainder of the systems were in good order so we finished up under the hood by installing new spark plugs, air filter and original equipment Volvo battery.  Of course, we did an oil and filter change along with the correct sealing washer on the oil drain plug.  Volvo specifies conventional oil in this engine so we used the correct viscosity and volume.  The engine is smooth and responsive, just as designed.   After all of the repairs were done, I took the vehicle on a 600 mile trip to test our work.  The vehicle ran fine and we finished off under the hood by replacing the variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid which is a service item at about 100k miles.  The variable valve timing helps the engine produce a lot more power and acceleration in its present form.  That system works fine too.   Moving along to the chassis, the brakes looked great, front and rear.  It also appears that newer drive axles have been installed.  During the drive, I noticed some noise from the right wheel so we installed new strut mounts on both sides up front.    We noticed a minor leak on one of the tires and it turned out to be a leaking tire pressure monitor seal.  We installed a seal kit on all four wheels for you to take care of that issue.   Finishing up, we installed a new cabin air filter.  The climate control system works well and will keep you cool even in HOT Alabama weather.   Shop around and then ADD IT UP!  Why buy one that needs work?  How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself?  The items that we serviced would easily cost you $2,500 if you did all of this after the sale.  Buy from Grove.  That’s the Grove Automotive Group, Inc. difference.
