Vehicle Detail

Daily driver from 1985 until 1991. Bought a new vehicle, drove this one from Dallas to my shop in Cyril Oklahoma, and pulled a spark plug to check timing issue. Got distracted by a war and the car sat for a couple of months with the plug out. Engine rusted and wouldn't turn over. The only things I know are missing are: the ignition has been stolen, the black plastic honeycomb between the left headlights is missing, the plastic around the heater controls is gone and the part of the wind wing (drivers side) that screws through the glass was replaced with a homemade one. Has 4 tires/hubcaps, plus spare and an extra spare off of my 86 spider. Don't know if I have four that will hold air. So when you consider how low the oil sump is, you may need to keep that in mind for loading. This is the SPICA fuel injected version. I do have the badge from the trunk lid and the clover leafs from the pillars, as well as door, trunk and original ignition key. I even have the original Blaupunkt am radio. Interior is rotted, even though the car has been inside or under cover since parked. Mice have done a lot of damage. Not tagged since it expired in 1991. No idea how many real miles are on it, but I'd guess odometer has rolled only once. (100k). Wonderful little car. Had the Internet existed like it does now 20 years ago, I'd still be driving it. Always said it would be the last thing I sold when things hit rock bottom, and I held true to that. I have a standing offer of $1800.00, hence the reserve price. I need the money more than the space, so there is no rush to pick it up, as long as it's paid for. Deposit is non refundable - yes I've been burned before, so don't bid if you don't want it. On Jan-16-17 at 16:43:10 PST, seller added the following information: Since you can't tell from the photos, I should add that all glass is intact, but the windshield does have a crack along the bottom -below the wipers, primarily on right side. Also, in addition to the general rot of the interior, the headliner (white original) is rotted out in the pillars from where the Quad badges had come off and let outside in through their mounting holes. On Jan-17-17 at 07:06:34 PST, seller added the following information: To answer the many questions about rust: the only rust through on the body is just in front of the left door handle. There are a couple of small holes that do go through. The rest of the body has some surface and pitting, but none of it is through. Rockers are good. Floor pan is pretty sketchy. You can see daylight through both foot wells if you pull back the carpet. I will get it out in the open this afternoon and check the trunk. I can verify that it has the second fuel injector pump (my back up) in the trunk with the rest of the loose parts. On Jan-17-17 at 07:46:24 PST, seller added the following information: Spare wheel well in trunk has some minor rust through. Looks worse from the inside than out. Only finding ONE of the two clover leafs from rear pillars. On Jan-17-17 at 08:08:38 PST, seller added the following information: While changing the front right tire I noticed two things: there is substantial rust between the door and wheel on passenger side, and it's missing an emblem. I think it's a Pinafarina badge, but it was never on the car when I owned it, so not sure. See new photo. On Jan-17-17 at 11:46:31 PST, seller added the following information: As far as I can make out (but mostly from looking at my old notes), the engine # is AR00551*02474*On Jan-19-17 at 09:17:18 PST, seller added the following information: I've attempted to post a couple of notes that didn't seem to go through, apologies if they show up twice.1) I misread the VIN: according to the title, it's AR1530585.2) the pictures make it look like the top has a bow. There are a couple,of hand sized shallow dents, but I'd guess they were from pushing the car because they are to subtle for hail.3) to my knowledge, the only 'wreck' she's ever been in was while I was trailering her home in 1985 when I bought it. (She ran, but the brakes needed bled). Had to panic brake and she slid forward and hit her nose on the winch just to one side of grill.4) Payment. Unfortunately I do need the money. Will need deposit within 48 hours. Non refundable since it will cover the cost of the listing. The balance I will need in 7-10 days. PayPal is fine, cash if you are picking her up. No wire transfers, I will not give my banking info. A check is fine, but it will have to clear before I release the car - so you'd have to mail it before you pick up. 5) I will not consider the auction ended until payment is made. Because I've been scammed before, I will relist in 72 hours if no deposit. I will relist in 11 days if not paid in full. I will not neccasarily automatically offer it to the next highest bidder (got scammed on that one, too.) Thank you, all, for the interest. On Jan-19-17 at 14:02:06 PST, seller added the following information: Several people have emailed me about the numbers not matching. As far as I know, it is the original engine for that car, and the VIN153 with a 551 engine does match for a 1750 GT Veloce, 105.51 shipped to the USA. I will try to get photos of both numbers posted this weekend so you can decide for yourself. On Jan-21-17 at 08:49:04 PST, seller added the following information: Added photos of the numbers.
