I LOVE this car. The only reason it is now for sale is because we are embarking on a 5-8 year roaming tour of North America in an RV and it is not going for the ride. This is a one owner top of the line Prius V with the technology package, protected by extra floor mats and luggage mats, clear covers over the hood and entire front end to protect from road rocks. The bulk of the miles are cruising on freeways taking son to his sports tourneys in LA, Austin, Salt Lake City or visiting family in Kansas City and Colorado, or taking a son to University life in Chicago. This car has never been in overly dusty or rough roads so there are no rattles or squeaks. Never been in an accident. Yet my lovely ex-wife’s parking skill was able to ding the back bumper, nudge a rear right door with a slight dent, and park too close to the parking lot curb. And for full disclosure, there is a tiny windshield chip but it cannot be seen while driving as it is under the rear view mirror. Ok that is 100% of the reason this is not listed in “Like New” condition. The title is clear, no liens, and in hand. This has radar cruise control (DRCC). So you set your intended speed, and relative distance allowed behind the next car in front and just steer. If someone pulls in front of you driving slower or you come upon a slower driver, no need to turn off the cruise control. This car sees the car in front and gently slows to match their speed and maintain a safe distance. Then when they are no longer in front of you, this car smoothly resumes cruising speed. If the car in front applies brakes, this car applies brakes. If the car in front applies brakes HARD, this car does the same and an audio and visual warning is issued. But wait there is more in the Technology Package, Lane Keep Assist. There is a camera on the inside roof looking ahead and sophisticated image recognition software that sees lane marker lines and establishes where this car is in the lane on the hi-way. If this car gets too close to the edge of the lane, the steering wheel is gently nudged to bring the car back to the center of the lane. It is NOT a self driving car, and the driver must keep hands on the wheel, but it does aid in long distance driving. When I test this first back in 2010 with the salesman, I exclaimed that this will allow me to have 2 more martinis before driving. He was not amused and corrected me politely…. Humor was missed on that salesman. The seat heaters are perfect on cold mornings and work fast. The Navigation is indispensable and I have updated the map to last years so there are very few areas here where road changes arise. The JBL sound system provides Carnegie Hall acoustics as you travel and is in perfect working order, never been over driven or clipped. Rated at 50 mpg, I have gotten 60 mpg driving from San Jose to Sacramento and back (the secret is to go 55 and not use cruise control). The all leather interior is in great shape, no chaffing, no holes, no scratches. The floor carpet is also in great shape, no stains, or bare spots as I have had the original carpeted mats as well as clear mats from day one. All outlets and iPod connections (wire and Bluetooth) have been fully functional. Tires replaced about 20k miles ago and should have at least 25k miles left. Never driven in snow, so the body has no signs of rust. All oil changes and service have been exactly as suggested by Toyota for this vehicle and Synthetic Oil has been used since the first oil change. There are no recall items outstanding for this car. Winning bidder has 2 days to make full payment, then 3 days to finalize pickup within a week. Will execute DMV bill of sale and transfer of liability at pickup. Sold as is. So that’s it.
