Vehicle Detail
1970 El Camino in very good condition. The car looks and drives very well. It is not a show-condition car, but what I'd consider a nice driver car. If you are looking for a car to cruise on Saturday night or take to a local show and enjoy the day, this is your car. The car has been in my possession for just over twelve years and I’ve done a lot of updates including: New front brakes (booster, master cylinder, drilled-slotted rotors, calipers, soft lines, pads and hardware)New SS style dash with Dakota Digital gauges, new vents, A/C control plateNew carpet and seat coversCustom sound systemEngine dress up including braded lines and covers, GM Performance valve covers, new radiator, aluminum pulleys, chrome alternatorLine-X sprayed in bed linerCraggar Wheels with knock-off center capsNew hood pins and cablesNew sun visor bracketsNew rear view mirror (stainless back)New Demon 650 CFM carburetorNew padded black and chrome steering wheel (Grant wood wheel also included)Traction bars The body, frame, floor pan are all solid with no rust. This car is stored in a climate controlled garage year round. The paint is not perfect, but has six coats of clear and can be brought to life with a cut & buff if you wish (see pictures for the most significant blemishes in the paint). The interior is like new with new carpet, seat covers, dash. The door panels and headliner are perfect, as is the original dash pad. I installed a black padded steering wheel, but can throw in the wood wheel if the buyer prefers. The engine runs well and sounds like a beast thanks to the lumpy cam. There are a couple of leaks, but nothing major. The tires, BF Goodrich Radial T/As, have decent tread remaining, and don’t have any dry rot or cracks. I don't know the actual mileage on the car, but I've only put ~4,000 miles on it in twelve years. My dad owned it since 1987 and installed the high output ZZZ crate engine as a brand-new engine in 1987. He used the car, but not as a daily driver. If I had to guess, I'd say the engine has less than 25,000 miles on it, but I honestly don't know the actual mileage.
