You are bidding on a ’99 Jeep Cherokee donated to charity by a family in affluent Northern Virginia. Used as a daily commuter and NOT an off road vehicle. :-) Has Existing VA State Inspection for daily driving that expired just two days ago. Good looking, 4x4, clean, powerful, and good shape despite some miles. It’s a ’99 Jeep Cherokee SE, 4 door 4x4. As you probably know, these engines are nearly indestructible. One of the best, strongest, and easiest to work on engines ever made. Will go more than 300K miles with modestly proper care. This one starts well, good power, quite smooth, reliable. Engine oil fine. No sign of engine oil leaks. Brakes are fine. ----------------------------------------------------------------- As I said, our general affairs guy here drove it most all week. And I drove it one day myself. It’s comfortable, dependable, and fun. If the snow comes, that is expected soon, it will be super capable. Tires – matching BF Goodrich tires with good to excellent tread. Checked the 4x4 function. Fine. Ready for the white . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heat is OK. Air conditioning is hard to tell because it has been so cold here recently. Pretty nice quality Alpine brand aftermarket CD player, radio, and AUX import for cell phone plug in. Crank windows, power mirrors. Glass is all good on the vehicle. Suspension good. The exhaust is fine. All the stuff - jack, handle, tire iron etc. carefully stowed as it should be under the rear seat. Shifts correctly, accelerates strongly. Body is generally excellent with no rust whatsoever showing in the sheet metal. (They seldom ever use road salt in VA and MD.) There is no rust problem underneath at all except the normal rust skim on exposed drive shafts, control arms etc. (see pictures). Relatively small scarcely visible scrap below the molding on the right side, small ding on lift gate. Paint otherwise is good . Several imperfections to note - Headliner above was repaired apparently and should have been replaced. Looks like previous owner repaired the overhead headliner and .....for sure isn’t a headliner expert! He has got it tight and solidly in place which is good- serves the purpose, but up above you have a bunch of bumpy little odd ridges or sealant ridges and and looks pretty 'home done.' No big deal, you can't really see it but certainly isn’t showroom quality. Driver seat has a funny little epoxy-like looking repair on “faux-leather” trim (See picture). And theres a noticeable silver-gray apparent paint stain on the driver seat . No big deal you’re, sitting on it, it’s invisible as you drive. Sell It Now: If you want to purchase it now …. In the interest of selling it quickly we’ve reduced it for the eBay sale. It has been for sale locally, finance-able, for $3,995 on the lot and it’s still here. It just needs to go now. The Sell it Now for the eBay sale has been Reduced for the auction and reset to $2,188……to just sell it. That’s very fair. We are trying to make it very easy. We just need this unit sold after it didn't do the $3,995 figure . Again, please call me to buy with any questions or concern. Means....$2,188 takes it . I will help you with anything if I can. Please also be sure you realize: the Sell it Now price ($ 2,188) is sufficiently low that quite frequently, if the auction goes a full 7 days, the winning bidder may end up bidding and paying more for it than someone might have bought it for midweek. We have it on "Sale " both on Ebay and locally if you are interested. You just have to call me. Same for local people can buy at the same option. That said, with either the Sell It Now, or full 7 Days Auction, it’s a No Reserve sale to the highest bidder. Once we get to this level of 'let 'em go cheap' we do often sell the vehicles on sale in the mid-week so again, call us if you are interested . Either way – it will be sold. We reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally first. If I dare say so, this one should be pretty affordable for a small, relatively fuel efficient, smaller SUV. Not perfect with the aforementioned issues, but probably a very good buy at the reduced price. I wouldn't call this unit a show room ready, cream puff unit, rather more of a solid simple workman like classic with life left in it. Considering that even the cheapest 4 x 4’s these days are all $24,000++ and more new, this one now should be super affordable, at only a small fraction of that.
