Vehicle Detail
Custom camper trailer made from a 1974 Westfalia Vanagon. -Custom cabinet and dual sink -45 gallon fiberglass water tank where engine used to be with pressurized water system -12 volt electrical system with 2 bank Guest charger and fused panel -110 electrical system with 4 outlets -Body is in good condition. Slight rust in forward corners and a crease in the corner of sliding door. -Paint is shiny and glossy -I would not hesitate to tow this rig cross country tomorrow. -Located in Clearwater, FL To answer some questions about sleeping configuration, the pop top area has a sleeping loft with the folding bunk to provide around a 6.5ft double bed. The bottom bench seat folds flat and converts into another 6.5' double bed. The kids like to sleep in the pop top loft and my wife and I typically sleep below. We also will include a huge tent with a pass through to the rear hatch that I will include for extra space or when it is rainy. I will try and post some pictures of the attached tent soon.On Dec-04-16 at 13:14:59 PST, seller added the following information: The rear axle is the original 1974 bus fully independent transaxles with the cv joints at each end of the axle. The result is that the rear wheels no longer camber inward as with the older swing axles prior to 1969. The rear wheels maintain a relatively constant vertical camber improving tracking and handling at freeway speeds at tow. We typically tow the bus between 75-85mph with a 1500 Sprinter van. Over 85mph the bus begins to sway slightly. At 90 mph, the bus really wants to wag in a fairly consistent fashion, and I would not recommend it. I don't know the actual weight rating of these transaxles, but the weight of the original 1800cc engine and the 45 gallon full water tank should be comparable at 350-400 lbs. We have towed this bus several thousand miles on vacation over the years with both a 5 and 6 cylinder diesel Sprinter and barely notice the bus in tow.
