I purchased this 1995 Ford Explorer from a private seller in 2013 for a work truck. It has served me well but it needs a ton of work. The engine runs and turns over, I have never had engine trouble with it. It needs: * New brakes pads/rotors/emergency brakes, * The headlight and tail-light electrical system is malfunctioning. The original switch went bad, I purchased a new switch but never installed it, new switch is sold with vehicle, * Since I bought the truck the 4WD has not worked, a mechanic told me it was a switch, I've never needed the 4WD so I have never replaced it, * The driver's side door window track does not hold the window in place when the window is down, thus the original panel for the door is absent. The motor for the window works, but the glass slides out inside the door. * The latch on the driver's side door and the hood are broken and do not function properly. I have never been in an accident with this vehicle, but when I bought it the driver's side door had been replaced and repainted. The hood does not close at all because the latch spring is messed up, the driver's side door does close but you have the push the catch in the door with your finger. * The electrical switch for the sun roof is broken/missing, has been since the day I bought it, I've never used it so I never cared. * The driver's side interior panel and the hatch interior panel are missing. The hatch panel was missing when I bought the vehicle, have never cared as I have used it as a work truck, the driver's door panel I took off to attempt to fix the window and the panel was brittle and broke, I disposed of it, * The seal around the hatch is bad and needs to be replaced, * The speedometer/odometer panel does not work. It was removed when I had a shop do transmission work to it in October 2015, when I got it back the wires were loose. I had it repaired several times, but the last time I had it fixed the odometer stopped working altogether and it died not too long thereafter. The part is easily available and not difficult to replace, and * The air conditioner does work, but the A/C pump seal is bad and it bleeds freon. I have put a lot of money into keeping the A/C working, when the seal went bad I gave up. Whoever buys this truck will have to have it towed as I believe the brakes are unsafe, the headlights and taillights do not function, and the operating panel does not work. It has a free and clear title, the is the perfect truck for someone who would like one to restore or simply use for parts. The motors does run, the transmission is good. Serious inquiries only, please. I am selling this vehicle as-is and with no guarantees. It is also sold with a Haynes Repair Manual and all parts I have for the vehicle. I have it tagged as an antique vehicle in Maryland, it will not be sold with the license plates/tags, the buyer will be responsible to acquire his/her own. Interested buyers shall make a deposit of $50 to show their serious intent of purchase via paypal. The buyer shall then coordinate with me within 72 hours of the deposit for final purchase arrangements. The buyer will have to have the Ford Explorer towed via dolly or tow truck/flatbed as the Ford Explorer is not safe to drive on the road in its present state at their own expense/arrangement (I am not open to negotiate on this matter). Buyer will pay in in cash, US Postal Service Money Order, or Cashier's Check (If buyer pays in US Postal Service Money Order or Cashier's Check, I will not finalize the sale until I have confirmed the validity of either). I will provide buyer a receipt of sale/hold harmless agreement. If the buyer no shows to an arranged meeting and does not contact me for reason of delay or to reschedule (within 24 hours), provides false/fraudulent USPS Money Order or Cashier's Check, or fails to make arrangement or respond within a maximum of 72 hours after making their deposit, I will cancel the sale.
