Vehicle Detail
The High Bidder backed out on the Purchase so I'm Relisting the VW: You are bidding on an original condition 1978 VW Beetle Convertible. I'm the 2nd owner and bought it in 1984 with 28,000 miles on it. It was a daily driver up until 1998. Was garage kept most of it's life. I lived 5 miles from work so that's why it has low mileage. The car is located in Melbourne, FL 32940. Buyer pays for any shipping costs. I have a clear title for it. I haven't started it since 2009. The electric fuel pump went bad. The engine is not seized up and you can move it using belt. It does roll. Engine is clean. I put a little Marvel Mystery Oil in each cylinder because I didn't know if I was going to restore it or sell it back in 2009. It's never been in an accident. The passenger rear fender has been dinged. There are 2 dings on the driver door. Obviously the floor pans need to be replaced and so does the electrical. Most of interior needs to be replaced. I had the top down for a while and a rat must have gotten into the top. It damage the headliner and top so that needs to be replaced. See photos. There was a little rust at the top of the windshield on the driver's side so I fix that and painted that portion of the car. There is a small chip in the windshield too. The driver's side rear window doesn't work. The window frame needs to be fixed. I've just left both rear windows up. The original top color was black. The tire rims were stock silver but I painted them white to match the white replacement top I put on in 1989. Comes with the rear top boot and cover. Email me if you have any questions or want more photos. On Nov-06-16 at 09:41:43 PST, seller added the following information: Someone asked about rust on the car and here was my response: "As I indicated in the listing the floorpans need to be replaced. They are rusted thru in several areas. There is some minor rust at the very bottom of the doors. There is some minor rust under the rubber covers of the running boards. There is some minor rust showing up in one spot at the bottom right around the front windshield gasket." On Nov-06-16 at 10:24:08 PST, seller added the following information: Here is another question someone had: Bidder: Any rust areas under the fenders. Where the bumpers are mounted , and the area front and rear suspension. Floor has holes like described. Body, no rust holes? My response: No thru body rust holes. No thru rust at fenders only minor surface rust. Only surface rust at front and back bumper mounts. No rust at front or rear suspension. Someone just came by to look at it and said it was very clean/minor rust. Strut mounts were in great shape. Somebody was also asking if there was rust at the upper back seat area. They were referring to the photo where the bottom of the back seat is out. They asked if the upper area where the seat belts are is rusted. That is NOT rust. It's glue from the carpet on the upper back seat back and from the rear compartment carpet. At the floor pan and where the battery sits is rusted and the floor pans all need to be replaced. Someone asked for a photo of the front seats w/o covers. I just added that photo. I will email all photos I have if you send me your email.
