Vehicle Detail

Today up for your consideration is a 2004 Volvo XC90 T5 Turbo SUV. First the good---- Overall this vehicle is in very good used condition. The body is very straight with only the usual small dings and scratches you would expect in a used car. It has the tan leather interior with 7 seat, third row seating. As you can see in the pictures there is only normal wear to the seats and mostly only on the driver’s seat and center console. This vehicle has also never been smoked in. It has brand new tires that were installed only a few months ago, in the pictures you can see how they have very little tread wear. The transmission shifts very smooth and nice, and the steering is tight and the entire car rides very nice and quiet. It also has a DVD player for the rear seat passengers Now for the bad----It is giving a code saying cylinder 3 misfire. I have verified fuel and spark so I believe that it has a stuck valve. I did a compression test and don’t get anything on the gauge. I used a small light to look down in the cylinder and the top of the piston looks fine so I just don’t think a valve is closing all the way. It is not smoking or making noise at all so the stuck valve is most likely the cause of the misfire. It will also need a new radiator, it has leak in the front right side. There is also an oil leak that appears to be just below the turbo, so I suspect it is the turbo oil hose or drain back hose leaking. The brake vacuum pump is not working so the brake pedal is firm for the first 20 seconds after start up, but then feels normal after that. The cabin heat and AC fan is not working, I don’t know if it’s the motor or switch though. The buttons on the key for the locks also don’t seem to work, although they all work great in the car. Even with #3 cylinder missing the engine starts easily and sounds good. I found the radiator on Rock Auto for $140, and was quoted $225 for the valve job. I don’t have the time to try and tackle this project myself, but if you can turn wrenches you could have good vehicle again for fairly cheap. I am happy to answer any questions and send more pics if you wish. If you have any questions please ask. THANKS for looking!!!!
