Vehicle Detail

I have two vintage cars, and that is one vintage car too many, so I am reluctantly selling this rare 1966 AMC Marlin. I bought this from a dealership on Staten Island called Roverclassics.com. They told me that this car was a Montana barn find. I have included the many pictures they took of the car. The car looks the same today, except for some oil and road dirt on the undercarriage. I bought this classic car a couple of years ago for $10,000 as is, and it is being sold as is. The engine runs quietly and smoothly. Although I have driven the car sparingly, I have had it on the highway several times to stretch its legs, and it is quite fast. I have put some parts into the vehicle, included a hydraulic stop lamp switch, a vacuum advance, temperature sending unit, and a PCV valve. The clutch plate has become contaminated (chatters) from a cracked bell housing. I acquired a serviceable bell housing, but haven't had time to put it in; the good bell housing will of course come with the car. Although it isn't noticeable in the pictures, I noticed that previous body work on the front and rear right fenders is less-than-perfect, and the front bumper needs to be reset or possibly straightened. The gas gauge sometimes doesn’t work. I think it is an intermittent ground, but this is typical of a partially-restored barn find. After sitting up for decades, chances are very good that many of the rubber components will need to be changed. This car is perfect for a serious collector because it is very close to being finished. I had this car delivered from Staten Island because I knew that these old cars need to be sorted out before a road trip. I still have the business card from the big rig owner-driver, who only charged me $1,500 from Staten Island to New Orleans. The car is priced taking into account the work that needs to be done, although I paid considerably more for the car in the same condition. Serious buyers are more than welcome to inspect the car in person; just let me know, and we can make arrangements for you to do that Item Photos click to enlarge
