Vehicle Detail
2009 Smart Car - Convertible Forsale. I have owned this car for nearly 5 years. I am the 2nd owner of the car. The car has been, great, reliable transportation for it entire life, however it has many problems. All early year Smart Cars chronically have many of the same problems. I have owned multiple Smarts and have almost all the same problems. The Good:Car looks great, starts every time and will take you anywhere.Starts and goes every time.Has almost every possible option for its year:Upgraded Sound System (Factory Subwoofer, Multi Disc Changer)Heated SeatsCold ACPower SteeringPower WindowsConvertibleFactory Alarm SystemEverything works Convertible top is excellent - works greatCar does not leakNew front brake padsRecent Oil Change Original Paint No accidents Clear Title in Hand(BEST COLOR COMBO AVAILABLE)The Bad: (Many Smarts have these problems but sellers do not disclose)Broken Window Button (Window operates could use a new button)Tire Pressure Sensors removed (Light is always on) Rubber Valves do not break or leak airSuspension needs new shocks- May need something elseCar shakes a little over 55MPHSome light wear and tear inside and out - Overall looks goodRear bumper has most marksHID Headlights aren’t the best (OEM kept burning out)Rear rim seems a little bentCar needs a good detailWORST PROBLEM:Car may need a clutch actuator, clutch or transmission. Car jumps off the line very hard. Its like it smashes into 1st gear and does the same in Reverse. After the car is going a couple MPH the car shifts perfectly through all the other gears, upshifts and downshifts. I have had this problem for nearly 2 years. Car is sold as-is. No full or partial refunds.
