*CAR JUST PASSED MARYLAND STATE EMISSIONS INSPECTION (7/26/2016) AND IT IS VALID TILL 9/26/2018. I purchased this two-owner vehicle June 2014 at a Audi dealership because it was exceptionally clean inside out. The car is never smoked in and pets free. I thought that I was going to own this beautiful car forever so I performed the following list of cost-no-objective maintenance and upgrades during the past year: Mechanical: 1. Replaced timing belt, serpentine belt, water pump, seals, gaskets, idle pulley and idle roller. Flushed and refilled coolant. 2. Replaced entire PCV system (New OEM Volvo parts: oil trap, 3 hoses, 1 tube and gasket). My mechanic cleaned the intake manifold for internal carbon built-up while working on the PCV system. 3. Replaced all four sides brake pads and rotors. Flushed and refilled brake fluid. Brake pedal feel is firm and supple. No vibration under heavy braking. 4. Replaced front shocks, springs, sway bar links, ball joints, left outer tie rod and right CV axle (Volvo OEM part from a 2009 S60). No unwanted undercarriage noise at any speed. Steering response is sharp and precise. 5. Replaced transmission torque mount, upper engine mount, strut brace mounts, steering limiter (OEM Hutchinson parts). 6. Flushed and refilled power steering fluid. 7. Flushed and refilled transmission fluid three times (3.5qt each time). Shifting is crisp with no clunk and delay in engagement. 8. Always serviced with Mobil 1 0W40 fully synthetic oil. 9. Last alignment and wheels balancing done in late October 2015. Electrical: 1. Replaced oxygen sensors. 2. Replaced camshaft position sensor. 3. Replaced CVVT turbo solenoid valve. 4. Replaced with NGK iridium spark plugs. 5. Previous owner replaced the throttle body in 2010 under Volvo extended warranty. The electronic throttle module and transmission control module were upgraded by the dealer. Cosmetic: 1. Paint is in excellent condition. Hand wax every 3 months. The second picture shows water forming into beads after raining. 2. Water repellent treatment on all exterior glass every 6 months. 3. Leather treatment every 6 months. Overall, leather is still soft and supple. 4. Tiny hole in the bonnet. Small crack in the rear left corner. Couple of small scratches and dings. Upgrades: 1. Speedometer and steering wheel transplanted from a V70R. 2. OEM Volvo cargo box and cross bars. Items that require attention: 1. Front tires 50-60%, rear left 80-90% and rear right 30-40%. 2. Check engine light illuminated for "small evap leak". Mechanic reset the ECU but the message came back after a few days. We tried but could not identify the source of the small leak. It triggers the "Engine system service required" message once in a while, but the message disappears after a few days. 3. SRS airbag light is illuminated after the speedometer and steering wheel transplant. It can be reset only at the Volvo dealer for $165. 4. Items 2 and 3 cause no drivability issues. The car passed MD state safety inspection and emissions.
