Vehicle Detail

History of this Vehicle: I purchased this car new in September 1994. By 1999, it had about 64,000 miles. That year, I read an article about a company in Florida, Renntech, that modified an S600 V12 engine to produce 625 HP and called to ask if they could perform the same modifications to my S600. They explained they had a 575 HP package and a further 600 HP package, but that it was a lot more work modifying a V12 above 600 HP, but they would do what they could. When they were finished, Bob Brady, who was my contact at Renntech, said they were able to achieve 612 HP on their dynamo and suggested that using regular oil for the first couple of oil changes should bring the horsepower up closer to 625. I've never had it on a dyno. Since the car arrived from Renntech in 2000, it's been driven only 20,000 miles. It was obvious from the start that it was no longer a daily-driver. It was so powerful, it literally frightening at times. It has only been taken out for short trips to keep it in shape. Up until about six months ago, it was always garaged. This is one reason for selling it. This car should be garaged. If you're reading this, you don't need to be reminded that the Mercedes W140 series was the high watermark of automotive engineering, durability and safety (Princess Diana's bodyguard survived the infamous crash in a 1995 S600) as was the V-12 engine of that series. To own a low-mileage S600 of this series with the maximum performance modifications possible by renowned Renntech "Surgeons" would bring any classic car collection up by several worthy notches. This is being offered for $25,000 and includes a fresh set of tires of the buyer's choice. (I neglected to take a picture of the driver's seat. Not worn. No tears or wear spots. If you would like a picture of this or anything else, just let me know.)
