Vehicle Detail

1965 Sunbeam Minx Series V. Actually, it's a Hillman Minx (Hillman and Sunbeam were part of the British Rootes Group). Badged as a Sunbeam for sale in Canada, it was sold new in New Brunswick, Canada, and brought to the U.S. sometime around 1991. There is a 1991 New Brunswick inspection sticker still on the windshield and there was a 1991 New Brunswick license plate behind the spare tire. A friend of mine found this car in January of 2015 while searching for MGB parts. It was being stored in the basement of a defunct auto dealership building in Dayton, Ohio, along with an MG Midget. It appears to have been stored inside for most, if not all it's life, as the dash pad and rear package shelf show no signs of sun fading. The owner was moving to Florida and I purchased the car as a winter project, and to save it from being pushed outside and possibly vandalized. The body is totally straight and solid with one older repaint to the correct color. The doors open and close perfectly, the windows function correctly, the five wheels are original paint. The interior is original and remarkably well preserved with one small dark spot on the driver's bottom cushion. The kick panels and vinyl below the door openings are faded, and the front original rubber mat has lost some of it's shape. The steering wheel, glove box, dash and instruments are beautiful. The owner's manual, owner's service policy, and automatic transmission supplement are in the glove box. The jack and tools are still in the trunk. This car has the 1725cc engine with 5 main bearings, completely rebuilt about 700 miles ago, and the factory Borg Warner T3A three speed automatic transmission which shifts great. It has factory front disc brakes, recent brake pads and rear shoes, recent radial tires, exhaust, new battery, water pump, fuel pump, starter, carburetror, u-joints, etc. Everything works - lights, instruments, horn, turn signals, wipers, dome light, locks. I've spent a lot of time andmoney on this project, and now I need the space for my new project. Have you ever seen one? I can email many pictures. 5132076210 Please, no texts - I don't have a smart phone and can't reply. I reserve the right to end this auction early as the car is advertised locally.
