Awesome classic suburban. I dont know about you, but I cant remember the last time I saw one quite like this. One owner, california truck, all original paint interior, drivetrain etc... all as it was from 1980. 89,430 miles. This baby is nicely optioned, and heavy duty as they come. This is a silverado 20, 4x4 3/4 ton suspension and running gear, built like a tank. I have the original options check list for this rig which includes but is not limited to; power locks, electric tailgate window (works!) timed wipers, engine oil cooler, 400 ci 6.6 litre engine with 4 barrel carb, 40 gallon tank, tilt wheel, silverado package, special order burnt orange two tone paint, all glass factory tinted, front and rear A/C, locking rear diff, cruise control (not working but all parts present), fuel tank skid plate, clock, TH400 with heavy duty oil cooler, etc... This classic SUV has style, function, awesome classic looks, lovely patina and best of all, most everything functions properly. Lets run through the systems on the truck. All gauges work, clock does not keep time. Heat moves through all positions, as does A/C, the compressor doesnt seem to kick on, but it looks to have been serviced or replaced somewhat recently. heater blower only works on low speed. Rear A/C only blows on high speed, go figure. power locks work, but a few need lubed. all windows roll up and down smoothly. Interior is very clean and tidy, carpet has no major rips or stains, same goes for the seats. Dark discoloration you see in pics is where the seat "fuzzy" material has worn off, most likely due to dryness and 37 years of peoples rears. Door panels are decent, but chalky from the sun, replace or leave as is, no harm in either. Headliner was removed long ago. Lets go over the Body and drivetrain next. The pictures do a lot of talking, but theres always room for more words. Paint still shines very well, obviously there are a few rust issues, this was after all a california coastal truck. Roof has surface rust, as does tailgate. passenger side has dent in rocker panel and light swipe behind rear door. Rust of higher severity is shown in pics. Worst is in spare tire well. Truck is pretty straight, with no major damage and all trim intact. Overall, the exterior has great character, and the rust is definitely not out of control. Floors and underside of truck are rock solid. Mechanically this beast seems sound. Engine fires right up with one pump of the gas in the morning, blows a bit of blue smoke if its been sitting, more than likely dried up valve stem seals from the truck not getting much use over the past decade. Once the bit of blue clears up, the engine runs strong and smooth, no odd noises, overheating, backfires, etc... does not smoke continuously while driving. Has all emission equipment in place and was just smogged. Transmission shifts smoothly and proper, no slipping or harsh shifting. 4 wheel drive works great, in both high and low ranges. Exhaust system in great shape. brakes are excellent. suspension and steering are very tight, does not wander on the highway, in fact this rig loves the open road, its a really unique cruising experience, very fun to pilot. No vibrations or shakes at highway speeds. This is an old 4x4, 3/4 ton truck, so the ride is not caddy smooth, but ive always liked the way these old 4bys ride, firm yet pleasing. tires are in excellent shape and have all been dismounted, wheels painted, and re-balanced to perfection. Not much else to say, this is a great do-anything, go- anywhere, tow-whatever, kinda truck, and looks awesome doing any of it! Really needs nothing to start being enjoyed immediately, I already drive it daily and its been very reliable. Bid to take home a great running and driving classic chevy!
