1972 Super Beetle with 74 rear fenders, lowered front and rear. New Continental tires, 185/65/15 on rear, 145/66/15 on front mounted on 15" chrome Fuchs. PPG Base/Clear Snake Skin Green Paint, aftermarket/custom ragtop (was not an option on the Super Beetle). Lots of new parts which include: Complete floor pans (glued in, not welded, provides a better seal, less chance of rusting again), Interior panels, headliner, carpet, dash pad and steering wheel. Leather front seats from a Mini Cooper, very nice seats (huge improvement over stock VW seats), seat belts including 3 point belts in the rear. New weatherstripping/rubber except the window scrapers (could not find replacements that were good enough, the ones on the car are good, just old, still in great condition) Window rubber is good. New shift tube bushing (not the nylon bushing but a EV4U oil impregnated metal bushing). New shift coupler. Master cylinder, adjustable front struts, sway bar and bushings. Rear 5 bolt brake drums, front has 4 to 5 lug adapters. 1600 DP engine with Dual Webers, Pertronix distributor, NEW generator and the EMPI Euro-sport exhaust. New clutch and pressure plate. As noted above, there are some electrical problems that include: turn signals (has new German switch), horn, backup lights & fuel gauge. Car is complete enough to cruise with, vent box (and venting) was never reinstalled. The only thing I would consider a defect in the paint is near the ragtop (concealed when top is closed) there is a crack (shown in one of the pictures). This is a great looking car, so if you are new to the air-cooled VW scene, this would be a car that you can jump into, learn the ropes of maintaining one of these and have a sweet ride. CAUTION - people will go out of their way to come talk to you about this car!
