Vehicle Detail
I purchased this bike is out of an estate two years ago, the last time it was tagged was in 1996. I will have a full description and more images soon, please check back. On Jun-20-16 at 21:01:56 PDT, seller added the following information: This is as honest a survivor as your likely to ever find. I believe these are even the original tires. Machine was obviously stored inside as they aren't weather checked as you might expect. No rotting. Fuel was gelled in the tank so a thorough cleaning was in order. Rebuilt the carbs, new fuel lines, rebuilt front master cylinder with oem parts, flushed front brake line and rebuilt caliper, replaced fork seals and boots along with fluid. Changed motor oil and filter, new air filter, changed rear end lube, changed drive shaft lube and transmission lube. Replaced the oem fuel screen at the bottom of the petcock (internal) and added the BMW recommended filter screen to the petcock inlets. New battery. Bike had no key when purchased so had to send the ignition switch along with an oem key blank to Gregs Lock and Key Service in Independence, Mo, they did an excellent, quick job of fitting the key to the switch. When I started this machine there was no smoke. It runs like a top, smooth idle, pulls strong. All gears work as they should. Everything works. The images show this bike as it currently is in as bought condition. Look closely and you might even find some grime hear and there as I haven't washed it, its not perfect but the floor under it where it is stored is dry. There are no visible leaks. The tank has no dents but is smudged from fuel spills in the past. The one side cover I have has the usual cracks typical for this bike on the mounting tabs. I will load an image of the original hard case soon, it's still at the ex's which brings me to the reason for this listing, divorce forces sale. Bike will be provided with a clean Kansas title. I did my best to do as little as possible to this gem of a machine. I have the original fuel lines that can go with the bike, (should the buyer want them to maintain the original appearance) I just had to replace them because they leaked. What it needs; One side cover, battery straps. I believe that is it. Don't know if it came with a tool kit but it does not have one now. I am willing to help with preparation for shipping to anywhere. As long as you're willing to cover my costs we can work it out. I have no desire to make money on shipping.
