Vehicle Detail
Looking for the perfect blend of a street driving Jeep that can rock crawl with the best? I built this 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with exactly those goals. I am the third owner of this rust free/south west 96,000 mile TJ. I bought it in 2013 with a basic lift and 35's. In 2014 I decided to take it to the next stage and link/stretch it, move up to 37" tires, add hydraulic assist and a four speed transfer case. I went with the tried and proven Genright elite three link front/four link rear kit. All of the work was performed in my shop by my Ultra4 co-driver/fabricator and myself. It is as nice of build you will find anywhere! Unlike most builds I did not put Dana 60's or heavy large axle under it. I wanted to keep the unsprung weight down for better street handling and knew with properly built Dana 44's I could run 37" tires without breakage. This Jeep still drives down the road at 65 MPH smoothly, A/C blows cold, cruise control works and the stereo sounds great! The rear tool box could be removed and a bench seat could be put back in, if more seating is required as the Genright Crawler fuel tank is still under the Jeep instead of inside of the Jeep. Total wheel base is at the perfect 103" number and width is 78". I pushed the front forward 3" and the rear back 7" to get the best approach and departure angles possible without going to full hydraulic steering or an internal fuel tank. It has lots of wheel travel as you can see from the photos. I chose a manual transmission TJ for the fact the drive shaft is slightly longer and therefor can get a little more travel. That is also why I built the custom four speed transfer-case, it is five inches shorter than an Atlas but has all the same functions. I am not interested in any trades; as I am selling due to my racing schedule is preventing me from having time for recreational wheeling. This TJ has no dents or body damage only light scratches; it has always been garaged kept and detailed after each trip. It needs absolutely nothing and is ready to go, no disappointments here!
