Up for auction is a 1999 Lincoln Tow Car Limo. I purchased this 2 years ago to take my kids to prom rather than renting one. I have a small used car lot and the plan has always been to play with it and when done, try to get most of my money back. I found it on Ebay about 3 hours away. At the time of purchase the gas gauge did not work, the air ride suspension did not work as it should, and the roof leaked into the back area. I replaced the sending unit, swapped out the air ride for the spring/shock conversion, and made sure to store it under cover. I used it for 4 school dances and a couple trips to town...and of course many short runs for people that wanted a ride. Other then the trip home, I have put less than 400 miles on it in the last 2 years. It was stored under a carport when not in use. I did get it inspected when I pulled it out this year, good til 5/17. It is time to go to a new home...where someone else can have some fun. I know nothing about limos, so some of the questions I may not be able to answer...but I'll try. The good: Still runs and drives very well. Tires have lots of life left in them. Most of the buttons/switches work as they should. (I dont know if all do as I was usually the driver and never let the kids play with any of them) The known bad: The battery will need replacing, holds a charge for about a day The front rotors need replacing/turned - rusted up from sitting, still stops fine, but has a shake in the steering wheel The front heater/ac controls do not always work as they should Bubbling in the paint starting on the "added" middle section on both sides Roof starting to peel at one spot over the drive side of the windshield Water leak still there - damage to bar. I believe it is coming in along the seam under the center window behind the chrome moulding If I think of any more...good or bad I will add them. It is for sale along the road and I do plan to run it through the local dealer auction in a couple weeks if it doesn't sell. Asking price is $3250...but cash in hand talks. We can do the transfer in our office or take it to your local notary...your choice. Anyone who shows up in person, we can throw a dealer plate on it and test drive...as long as I feel you are a serious buyer. $250 paypal non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours. Second, there was a smell of gas at the rear of the car when we got back. Because this was not there when I listed it, I will do my best to get it fixed before the deal is complete.
