Time to let my pride and joy go and start a new project. As the photos show, this wagon has been slightly customized with the roof rack and rear badging removed, wood trim refinished in a grey/blue color and a chromed shifter from an earlier Mercedes model. This is a 300TD turbo diesel. The car was painted in Mercedes color phantom grey, DB733. Seats were recovered with leather kit ordered from GAHH. Carpet was replaced with Mercedes German square weave also sourced from GAHH and the Headliner was replaced, also from GAHH. Everything on this car works, except for the footwell actuator needs replacement. when one of the actuators or crossovers fails, the system defaults to defrost mode. Thus car runs like a scalded dog as I had the diesel injector pump increased by 12% when rebuilt by Bosch certified shop (cleanairfuelinjection.com) I have replaced just about everything over the past three years including: Front shocks, tie rods, steering link, rear hydraulic shocks, all motor mounts, rebuilt turbo charger, rebuilt diesel injector pump, timing chain, diesel injector were rebuilt with upgraded Monarch nozzles, all rubber vacuum fittings, all door lock vacuum actuators, new OEM weatherstrip around the entire car, including rear cargo windows. All new weatherstrip around the doors, all new center trim around car. All replacement part are OEM if available. NO URO Parts used!!!. What else, subframe mounts, flex discs on drive shaft, rebuilt axles, transmission mount, driveshaft bearing and mount, Brakes are all in working order, with three of the calipers having been replaced, all new brake pads. New exhaust from manifold back. Just too much to list. This wagon runs great and has had basically everything rebuilt on it except the engine itself, which I would have done had it needed it. As I have mentioned, the turbo charger was rebuilt as was the diesel injector pump. Compression was excellent on all cylinders, so no need to tear down the motor. Headlights are Bosch brand and have new glass lenses and new bulbs. New grill insert and much more. Door cards were recovered with MB Tex vinyl sourced from GAHH. Coco mats not included.
