Vehicle Detail
I bought this truck in 2008 from eBay with 48K miles. In the past 8 years, I’ve added a ton of options and driven the truck less ~35K miles. The truck was my hobby and not a daily driver. With 2 driving teens I need to get a smaller backup vehicle. This blacked out truck has a custom nerf bar, BAK metal roll top, LEDs all around to include the truck bed, a lift, and 34” tires. I believe all the bells and whistles came with this package including leather seats, power, power sunroof, AMF\FM CD changer, AC, keyless entry, tow package, hitch, keypad on driver door for true keyless, rear seats fold up for large in-cabin storage, and more. Additionally, I added a backup camera, EDGE computer, speakers, and tone of exterior add-ons. I “blacked” out the entire truck about 18 months ago. This Harley Davidson truck HAD red flames\logo on the side along with chrome wheels, rails and badges. The rails, wheels, and badges have all been powder coated black. The rest of the truck has been plasti-dipped in flat back. If you prefer the original paint, Plastidip does NOT harm the paint and can be peeled off. Even though it can be peeled off, it holds up amazing well to automatic car washes (touchless and brush). NOTE: The last picture with the flames on the side is BEFORE the plastidip was applied. You will need to remove the plastidip to get back to this look, Whats wrong you ask? There is no major damage to the truck but after 11 years, it’s not perfect. I don’t want to waste my time or yours so look at the pics, ask questions, and check out this list of issues: -The power coated rails have peeled away especially where high heels were used on the passenger side.-The passenger seat, I just found out when taking pics today, will not move forward. My guess is bad switch but may not get this fixed prior to sale. Other power options work on the seat to include going back. The switch cover is also missing.-Like all Fords it seems, there is rust. I had the complete undercarriage cleaned and coated 2 years ago but there is still rust in some areas. The most notable rust on the visible exterior is the rear bumper -bubbling up in the right and left side. - The parking sensors are not working. They stopped working after the bull bar was installed. So not sure if the sensor is blocked or somebody knocked a wire loose. I never used it anyway since I installed a camera.- Neither paint job is perfect –the truck is 11 years old after all. But I think it’s in above average shape (original paint and the plastidip)- The plastidip came off just below the gas cap. I had a major spillage one day and didn’t clean it up – dohh.- The driver side handle shows visible wear on where I opened the door.- There are some spots on the plastidip on the tail gate – possibly white paint splatter but minimal.- Plastidip isn’t for everyone. It’s a rough service so things like pollen build up and require a couple of washes.Hand washing probably not a good option.- Ford lost one of my powder coated wheel caps. I plastidipped a chrome one it but its peeling a bit. Buyer will receive 2-3 spare chrome caps.- Tires have a little more than 1/8” left on the tread but it will need new tires in the next year or so. Pictures should answer a lot of questions but eBay only allowed 24. Feel free to ask for more pics.
