Hi, and thank you for your interest.Up for auction (at no reserve) is a very interesting bike, with a VERY interesting history! I bought this Shadow at an IRS auction for Ed & Elaine Brown, who made national headlines by holding off the IRS and U.S. Marshalls in NH for roughly 20 years. This bike was one of a number of items seized from their property. See Wikipedia article on Ed and Elaine Brown, or news clips on youtube. I would have included a link, but ebay now prohibits external links to weird things like news articles. Yay. I am only selling this bike because I started a new business and need the cash. ***I had a request about the condition of the battery cover and seat, so I took and added detailed pictures of: the original unopened owner's manual, and battery cover, and a close-up of the seat. Discoloration on owner's manual appears to be only on the unopened plastic bag that it is in. Thanks! I have the bill of sale from the IRS auction as well as a declaration of mileage of 3,230 miles!!! Title is not required in NH, so an IRS bill of sale was provided with the odometer mileage statement. The bike looks COMPLETELY original, right down to it's tires, windshield and Saddlebags. With only 3,230 miles, I wouldn't doubt it. Last registration (sticker still on bike) is 6-30-1993.I also have a key chain from Elaine Brown's dental office that will go with the bike and is a cool piece of memorabilia & history (see pic). Has removable windshield Fuel tank was removed, cleaned, etched and coated inside with POR-15 Fuel tank kit. It worked awesome, looks beautiful. I cleaned the bike up, put in fresh brake fluid, changed the oil and tried to clear the fuel. Carbs need a rebuild. It's VERY clean besides the ding in the tank, and needing new tires (they look nice but I wouldn't trust them, as old as they are). I also have the original owner's manual, still in sealed bag. I did get the bike to start and run by spraying starter fluid into the carbs. All lights work like new, including blinkers/emergency, etc. Installed new battery. Fuel pump works. Front brake needs rebuild, easy fix. Even the air cleaner looked decent!!!
