Normal 0 Up for auction a very nice 1975 BMW R60/6. I am selling it for the owner as a professional courtesy. This is a very fine example of the R60/6 series, which are getting scarce. Clear title with present owner in Washington State. This unit was originally sold in the US with US specifications. It was eventually exported back to Germany and offered on the pre-owned market, whereby the present owner purchased it. The present owner brought it back with him from Germany several years ago, and has kept it in excellent condition and stored in a climate controlled garage. It was purchased with a malfunctioning odometer, and the present owner subsequently repaired it, so the true mileage is unknown. It is an original paint motorcycle … it starts, runs and shifts perfectly. Does not burn blue at all. The original mufflers rusted out long ago, and it now sports a fine pair of correct period JAMA premium stainless steel ones. The original Bing carburetors have been replaced with Mikunis, however, the bike will come with the original Bings and all the needed hardware to restore carburetion to original specs (including the original choke setup). Bike has aftermarket grips, but the original grips are supplied. Also, the bike will come with a box of all the goodies and spares seen pictured. The fuel tank has started to rust inside, so the current owner treated it with Eastwood’s Epoxy gas tank sealer (see pics) – this worked very well. A chip on the fuel tank shown in pics. No dings. Finally, the bike has an original period correct tool kit. You also get the books and a magazine (see pics): “Reparaturanleitung BMW Serie 5+6”, a repair manual in German. “Behelfskatalog BMW R 50/5 – R 90 S” , a parts catalog in German. “Die schonsten BMW Motorrader aus 75 Jahren” German BMW Motorcycle history book. “BMW Motorrader” Magazine No. 2. “BMW Twins” Restoration guide in English.
