I am the second owner. Title is clear. Engine light came on last week while I was driving. I stopped, replaced 2 coils and 4 spark plugs. On attempting to restart I suddenly heard a knocking sound. Shut down immediately and had the car towed to a repair shop. Shop representative did complete test as warranted and determined that cylinder 4 has a bent valve that contacted the piston. No compression. Leak down test showed the cylinder would seal. Scoped cylinder - damage to piston minimal. Rest of car is in good shape. Rip in upper portion of driver's seat. Otherwise leather is in good shape. Front door leather has come off (both sides) and doors are prepped for reapplication. New tires. Recent timing belt and water pump. New CV joints and boots on front. New rear shocks. Car is at my repair shop of choice. Used motor or remanufactured motor available at reasonable prices. Bought 2016 Passat.
