Hello eBay customers! Have a 1976 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with 66,000 original miles that needs to find a good home! Rare Triple Red! I purchased this vehicle on eBay last fall as it was a rare color combination and in great condition. However within a week of buying this vehicle another car that I have a fondness for also became available and the price was right and I picked it up also. I found out very quick that my eyes were bigger than my garage space and unfortunately I only have room for one classic vehicle. The past months I have agonized over which car to sell. I made the decision to part with this Cadillac. The car is in incredible shape for 40 years old. It has been garage kept for its lifetime and its easy to tell that it was. As most know this was the last year of the truly FULL size GM sedans. They don't get much bigger than this. Also last year for the sedans with no "B" pillar, and its wide open look with all the windows down. I have not done anything to the car since I picked it up other than some leisure weekend driving. The car is mostly original. Has original 1976 date code spark plug wires and cap and rotor, possibly even the plugs. except newer belts, hoses, battery the engine bay is un-touched since 1976. Car starts and runs fine and there is some hesitation until the carb warms up. Engine would benefit from a fresh tune-up and carb rebuild. Transmission shifts fine and cruise works. The AC works but blows cool, not ice cold. Looks to still be R-12 system and may need a top off. The paint is nice and has a good shine, but is not perfect. close inspection will reveal some chips and scratches but has good eye appeal. The original vinyl padded roof is flawless. it is nice and soft and proof of years of being garaged. A lot of these GM cars have issues with rust around the bottom of the vinyl roof below the back window, but not on this car! There is not a hint of rust anywhere around the vinyl roof. the only sheet metal rusting I could find is a little surface rust near the inside bottom of the front doors but as you can see in the photos it is not much and very light. The bottom of the passenger rear bumper end also has a small spot where the chrome is flaking off but there is nothing on the bumper or even under it anywhere else. Bumper fillers are cracking and will need replaced. The interior of this car is fantastic. Smoke free car and even has hint of a new car smell still. The only flaw is a cracked pointed edge of the dash pad on the side just left of the headlight switch. Original wonder bar radio works but only getting sound out of 1 speaker. Power antenna works fine. There is no hesitation in the power windows, all go up and down as new. All 4 power locks lock and unlock solid. Driver and passenger 6 way power seats work fine. I flew to New York and drove this car back to Texas on an 1800mile drive and there were no issues other than getting a lot of looks at the gas station and thumbs up on the freeway. The winning bidder should have no problem with flying to DFW airport and driving it home. This is not a show car or a new car, but it is in unbelievably great condition for a 40 year old example.
