I have owned this CBX for about 12 years. I haven't ridden it much, though I do ride it every season. I also store them properly. I leave the battery on a battery maintainer; I cover the bike; and I stabilize the fuel. It started up today within about 5 seconds of cranking. Battery was new last fall. I love these 80's Honda's! I have six of them at the moment. Three, including this '82, are CBX's. I've owned at least one CBX continuously since my first one in 1985. That was an '82 model year as well, so this '82 is my second one. Now it is going to become yours. Cosmetically, this machine is a 9/10. I have photo'd the right side saddlebag which has some cracking to the fiberglass and a bit of rash. The bike fell over in storage. The bike has not been involved in an accident during my ownership and I don't think that it has previously. It's just too clean and straight for that. The plastic and the tank are perfect, except for the aforementioned saddle bag. The metals is clean as well. The value covers are beginning to show some corrosion, but that will polish out easily. Then the bike will be perfect. This bike could, with very little effort, become a concours machine. Clean, Clean, Clean. Last fall, I had a new ignition system installed. NOS parts. The bike runs beautifully! Like the day it came off the show room floor. SuperTrapp stainless steel exhaust; 6 into 2 . Corbin saddle with back rest. Other than those 2 items the bike is stock. I do not have the original exhaust or saddle. Battery minder wiring harness is installed and the batter minder will be delivered with the bike. It needs a battery minder. The bike has a Honda clock on the fairing dash, which will drain the battery within a few weeks if not ridden or kept plugged in. The fairing also has the Honda head temp gauge.
