Vehicle Detail

1995 Taurus SHO owned by Dennis Gage of My Classic Car TV I have had four of these unbelievable cars over the years. This is my last one, and it is the one that I have owned the longest. I hate to let it go, but I need the space and I'm cleaning house. I bought this car from the original California owner in 2005 with 29k miles on it. It was exactly what I wanted; completely stock with full leather interior and all options. It's one of the last Gen II's produced. If you are looking at this ad, you probably are familiar with these high performance sedans. It is powered by the Yamaha-designed 3.0 liter Super High Output engine, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This is probably the best engine Ford ever built. It is extremely reliable and largely bulletproof. They will routinely run 200,000+ miles. The dual overhead cam, 24-valve engine develops 220 hp and 200 ft lbs of torque. They can get 27 mpg on the highway at 80 mph and have a top speed approaching 140 mph. They are the ultimate sleeper sedan and will blow away most things on the road. This car is solid, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the US. This is a very nice, rust free, low mileage, driver quality SHO. It's not perfect, but it presents well, both exterior and interior. It has a set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw H-rated tires with less than 2000 miles on them. It has also had many of the common problems fixed like a recent starter, recent battery, crank position sensor replaced, AC compressor replaced, front control arms replaced. It has also had its heater core replaced. The heater core will eventually fail in all Tauruses, and it is a monumental hassle to replace. The heater core itself is under a hundred bucks, but the job costs over $1000 because the entire dash has to be removed to get to it. This one is now good for the life of the car. The car also comes with (at least) all the additional parts and pieces pictured. As I said, I've had four of these cars, and I have spent years amassing spares. The driver's seat bottom had split a seam, and I replaced it with a leather seat bottom from a Taurus LX. It comes with the original seat bottom if you want to have it reupholstered and also with the rest of the leather front seats from the LX. There is also a complete power seat track with all motors. Included are a pair of driver's side original stock SHO "slicer" wheels. These are almost impossible to find. Also included is a pair of headlights, door weatherstripping, and various switches, moldings, sensors and modules. More parts will be added as I find them in my shop. The bits and pieces alone are probably worth close to a grand. The car is located in Evansville, IN which has a convenient regional airport. Louisville, Nashville, and St. Louis airports are all within 2.5 hours of Evansville, and I would deliver the car to one of those airports for a nominal fee if the buyer wanted to fly in and drive it home. The car is advertised locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells. Please feel free to email me with questions at dgage@MyClassicCar.com.
