Up for sale is a well maintained VW Passat. This is the GLX top of the line model. Oil changed every 5000 miles with Castrol high mileage synthetic. The previous owner (my Dad) did the same. Spark plugs, alternator, serpentine belt, radiator flush, brakes, battery and ball joints all done within the last year. Timing belt and water pumped changed at 80,000 as per recommended service schedule. This vehicle has served us well for 16 years, and is still smooth and powerful. Heated seats work well, seat covers on to cover some splitting in the leather. Needs: A/C recharged/patched (there is a leak somewhere), ABS module (still runs and drives well just gives an error on the dashboard), cam seals (engine does not burn oil but has a slow leak at the cam seals. I run a seal treatment in the engine oil ATP reseal which has slowed/nearly stopped all leaking). Most importantly, needs a new fuel pump. Starts runs and drives currently but the fuel pump is weak and will fail soon. I wouldn't recommend driving any distance until this is replaced (~$200-300 for the part). Labor shouldn't be bad as there is an access panel inside the car meaning you won't need to drop the tank to replace. Otherwise, there is some body rust in the usual places, nothing that can't be fixed. I can send photos of these areas on request. This is a good deal on a car I truly hate to get rid of.
