Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria P71 police interceptor. This car is a legitimate 1,500 original mile car. Runs and drives like new. Interior is mint and still has that new car smell. Clean florida title in my name. Power windows, locks, tilt steering, power (air bladder) lumbar in the manual drivers seat . Ice cold a/c and hot heat. Cloth front seats leather rear seat with rubber floor mat...no carpet. Front airbags and abs brakes. Factory am/fm radio. No cd or cassette. Factory mounted drivers side spot light and siren speaker behind the grill. 3:27 gear ratio rear non posi. This car never had a cage, push bar, console, window tint,"police" stripes or strobes . Had a light bar on the roof but it was removed. No accidents . Not flooded. The Imprint of the factory window sticker is still there! Sticker is missing and was probably was tossed after delivery. Has All of the books and manuals in the glovebox and the front license plate bracket (still new in plastic) is located in the trunk. 4.6 engine Runs smooth... does not smoke, tick,or knock. No unusual noises or rattles of any kind. No leaks and transmission shifts perfect. It was never garaged so it does have some paint issues ,the "fleet" white ones always do. No rust holes though and the body is straight. There is paint peeling next to the rear window on the drivers side and one quarter sized spot on the trunk lid near the rear window on the drivers side also. There is one bolt sealed with rtv sealant in the spot where the light bar harness went trough the roof. Has a few tiny rock chips on the drivers side of the car and one scratch on the lower part of the right rear door. I would paint it if I were to keep it...a good detailer may be able to touch it up. Looks ok at a distance. Where did this car come from ? Why does it have such low miles? HERE IS THE STORY. >>> I bought this car through an ebay auction in april of 2013 from Broward College in Davie, Florida. They have a fleet of crown vic's for police officer training (i guess about 30). Some are track cars . A couple of those were sold at the same auction as mine and were trashed and had 30 to 40 k miles. 1998 models I believe. This one i was told was used for mock patrols around the city. It had a light bar ,siren and radio . While still "new" in 2004 it went to the local ford dealer for a rough running issue (i have the receipt that shows when it was dropped off ). It was sent back to the campus fleet garage not fully diagnosed or repaired due to some miscommunication and then parked. I have a ford oasis print out that came up empty. It shows no info. of any repairs being done. It had 708 miles when the school parked it sometime around 2004. It sat so long it became non-operational. I assumed the fuel pump quit and the gas went bad. I guess the lazy/disgruntled ??? motor pool mechanics did not want to fix it. Fast forward to 2013.... When i picked it up from the school i verified from the head of the vehicle maintainence dept. that it only had 708 original miles. And talked to him about the car. He guesses it just slipped through the cracks. He also said that he did not work there when this car was parked. The car was barely used and said they don't usually sell them until they are worn out. It may have been listed and sold by mistake. Anyway, I took a jump start box and jumped it to see it turn over but it would not start. I smelled bad gas after removing the gas cap and then found it had no fuel pressure. After towing it home i started to work on it and I was about to drop the gas tank when i noticed the wiring harness was cut going to the fuel sender/pump. Was it Sabotage? Probably. I dropped the tank, back flushed the fuel lines, replaced the fuel tank with another one, put in a new fuel pump, strainer, fuel filter and sending unit and installed a fuel sender wiring harness. Changed all of the fluids and mounted four new "hp touring" tires from pep boys. The original goodyear (dated 2004) tires look new but are dry rotted with cracks but i saved them just in case the new owner wants them. This is a great car but i dont use it. I already have too many other vehicles to drive. I have a friend who is a car dealer and i diagnose and check his cars out for him. I have had access to dealer and transporter plates over the last 3 or so years I drove this crown vic. That is the reason why I titled it but never registered it. I don't have enough parking where i live at the moment, and I could use the money for bills so i am letting her go. I still drive it once a week to keep the fluids moving so it will have a few miles put on it during the course of the auction .Maybe 10 or 20 miles tops give or take. The car is located in Hollywood, Florida zip 33020 . I am Close to the Fort Lauderdale Intl airport so i could pick you up. I live in wv but here in south florida for the winter and can show the car any time. I also have access to a lift for your inspection. Send your mechanic. Nothing to hide here.
